  2. Around that price there's also the technics sl-1210 GR. Different look, absolute beast.
  3. Epiphone Ripper bass (Preferably with a correctly shaped pickguard).
  4. Well, after taking on board what everyone’s said on here & having another think, I’ve decided that I’m gonna save a bit more & invest in a Linn LP12. I’ll likely buy from a shop such as HiFihub.co.uk They have a good selection around £1500 and being a shop, I feel like I have some sort of reassurance that it’s going to be in good working order (they give them a full service).
  5. Lovely pics! I have the same bass same colour - looks pretty much identical other than my case is dark red inside. Mine is also light, just over 8lb. I wonder if that’s intentional on this model? By far the lightest Jazz I’ve played. The unusual dot and bound look specific to 66 is very cool also. Hope you enjoy it 👍
  6. No problem, thanks ever so much for trying. Worth a go!
  7. Hi Bobby, I have exactly the same amp - great choice! ... even has enough power to hold its own in band sessions / gigs J
  8. This is one of the newer Reissue bridges in pretty much as new condition and beautifully cut for Jazz/precision. No screws Will take £65 incl UK only postage
  9. Hi Nathan, I started playing in my fifties, initially I subscribed to a video course (BassBuzz) which was OK but the best thing I did was to get a teacher (I do mine online with Tom), some great ones on here. The way I find stuff to play is by looking for tabs or transcripts online for things I like, bigbasstabs is good for this, I also bought some books, I like Hal Leonard, it helped me get started. J
  10. I'd be happy to chip in a higher fee for the day, and bring some veggie munchies. My catering skills are superb, witness the DoI Page 4,000 Walnut Cake.
  11. Today
  12. Apparently, Jerry Scheff wasn’t a fan of Elvis Presley’s music before joining his band. Elvis Presley - Sweet Caroline (Live) | Jerry Scheff
  13. My wife’s U4 had to be exchanged within a month or so IIR. She has had the replacement quite a while now and it’s been fine.
  14. @Rosie C holy f*** thats an awesome stack, you're playing Glastonbury? I like your hacksaw screw solution
  15. Interestingly, the U45 has had superb reviews on Thomann: Xvive U45 4.9★ (28 reviews) Swiff WX520 3.8★ (21 reviews) and the older U4 which has been around the block a fair bit longer: Xvive U4 4.5★ (361 reviews)
  16. @kwmlondon I am told that they are now on a 5-string bass. Sorry that I was unable to give you better news.
  17. Hi @MattW the cab is a tad over 24" wide, a tad over 24" tall, and 16" deep. I'l travelling north in the next couple of weeks so meet up would be an option I'm sure 👍
  18. Oh really? I had no idea. That's a shame...😪
  19. Up for sale is my absolutely stunning 5 string 2020 Lakland Skyline 55/02 in trans purple. It has an ash body with beautiful quilted maple top, an ebony fretboard on a flat-sawn maple neck with graphite reinforcement bars. This bass is in excellent condition, it’s been gigged but has been very well looked after and there’s no obvious damage - it’s just not a brand new bass, I’d say it’s 9/10 and can’t find anything specific to note that’s negative about it 35” Scale with a 1.81” nut width, 22 fret with a radius of 10-13”. It is strung with Sadowsky blue label nickel 45-130T’s with the Tapered B string, so the combination of these strings and the Lakland neck gives this bass one of the best sounding B strings you could ask for. Pickups and preamp are both Lakland’s own LH3 which are in both the U.S. 55/94 and 55/02’s as stock. The preamp is Vol/Blend/Treb/Mid/Bass (cut and boost), however you can open the control panel in the band and change the frequency of the Mid control using the dip switches (275/600/900/1100hz). There is also a coil tap for the bridge humbucker pickup - towards the neck and engages the front coil only (60’s jazz) mid position is the full humbucker (both coils - stingray mode) and pointed towards the bridge is rear coils only (70’s jazz). The front pickup only also does a pretty convincing P Bass sound for a bass that’s clearly not a P Bass making this one of the most insanely versatile basses you can get - it’s extremely hard to get a bad sound out of this (trust me I’ve done my best! 😁) Included in the sale is an almost new ‘Protection Racket’ gigbag and Shipping via DPD Next Day (within the UK). It’ll be extremely well packaged and boxed so it’s safe for the journey, or collection from DH2, County Durham is also welcome Priced for a quick sale, no trades and no offers - this is a superb quality bass, at a very good price. Thanks for looking £875 shipped
  20. Hi, thank you. The unusually situated jack is just where I changed the original three knob, four band equaliser to a two band bass/treble unit and stuck a jack socket there to fill the leftover hole. The four band equalisers I built had board mounted pots to save on wiring and reduce induced noise.
  21. It really is excellent, and very simple to dial in.
  22. As you've already demonstrated that your taste is rather different to the average Planet Rock listener, I'm sure that there will be at least three RHCP songs in the 500.
  23. That was the one. It was Volume, Pan, Bass, and Treble
