  1. Past hour
  2. I was up in Scarborough last night with our acoustic duo, playing at ‘The Lookout on the Pier’. We were a bit concerned with the weather, as the waves had been crashing over the end of the pier where we park to unload, but the tide was out when we arrived so no dramas. A full house of dining punters, with some familiar faces and some newbies which is always good. We run the gig as request based, and had some good ones including ‘Dead flowers’, ‘Walk away Renee’, ‘Budapest’, ‘If you could read my mind’ and ‘Stormy Monday’. ( Also nice to see Chris from ‘Knight’s Music’ shop in the audience - a great place in Scarborough.) I used my Fender Kingman bass into a Rumble 100 combo, perfect for venues like this. We are back there next on February 15th, so looking forward to it already. Just hope the weather has calmed down a bit by then.( Apologies for the boring photo, but Mrs CP was too busy socialising and forgot to take any.j
  3. shame about the neck because it's absolutely gorgeous, sure someone could sort it out though and might be worth it for that finish
  4. I personally think it's ugly, but I also question whether they've hit their utilitarian design statement. I still don't think I'd buy one, but I could maybe look past the aesthetics more easily if... - the back of it was completely blank so it could be used tight against a wall and transported safely laying flat - the power connector was on the side under one of the vents and the power switch was on the front panel - the amp controls and power switch took up only the left (or right..) half of the twin-tub front panel - a front facing patch-bay took up the other half of the panel, housing all the stuff that's currently on the back - it came with a flightcase style clip-on 'lid' that made it cuboid in transport and protected the panel/patch-bay
  5. Great colour! Does this bridge comes standard on the new NGs?
  6. It's a real looker. Based on the Canadian Z series, but Chinese made and coming in at about £2600. I spoke to Bass Direct about them and they're taking pre-orders, but can't currently say when they'll arrive. Bass Freaks in Belgium are also listing them for pre-order, but showing delivery estimated as November this year, so there's likely going to be quite a wait.
  7. I was using the same yesterday and was having a problem (well minor annoyance) with the bass tom causing some type of resonance that sounded like a note - I think I worked out F# - which was really annoying, but something unique to my IEM mix as when I popped the ear pieces out I couldn't hear it in the room. I wonder if this was from the ear pieces or something else?
  8. Get Up Stand Up - Bob Marley
  9. Interesting - been enjoying my late 90s streamer (posted a page or two back next to the Trace stack) but yesterday played a fully IEM gig using a Genzler Magellan pre as DI. Now normally I use the bass in active mode (as I figure more is more) but because I had the IEMs I was playing around with the settings and remembered the passive mode so thought I'd give it a try. My word, the growl that came out of the bass was awesome, so much so that at the moment I can't imagine myself going back to the active mode - I can see how having some onboard EQ is helpful, but at the expense of tone?
  10. Helix HX for sale, it's been used well for a few years. Notice a few pixels on the first two scribble strips were damaged by an errant plug, happened a few years ago. Other than that and the battle scars 100% working with no issues. Original box. Price includes UK postage
  11. Today
  12. Sit Down - James
  13. Oops ! You’re correct, they are 4 in line… I will amend the post ☺️
  14. KZ LS10 pro is what I'm using. Find they sound pretty decent, maybe not so strong in the mids as I'd like and capable of sounding a bit boomy, but feel like a reasonable entry point to IEM? Edited for early morning autocorrect!
  15. Hope you can make it even if it's just for the morning.
  16. Here’s a shot from NAMM. This gives a big hint at what’s coming in the update:
  17. If you are looking to print this, start to think about orientation and supports on the print bed. Printing top down will give you the smoothest finish BUT you will need supports printed for the two end pieces. Printing top up or on any of the sides, means you will have support pieces inside the cover to remove. Not sure how thick your walls are, but you might struggle with the screw holes on the side (or you might not). The covers are not under any stress so you may be able to use thin walls. You've got rounded corners, fillets on the edges, holes and different extrusions so good job so far. I tend to design with right angled corners and use the fillet tool to round afterwards. This means it's easy to change the radius, there are lots of exceptions to my rule 😁. Also use the offset tool a lot to get easy walls. Looks good for first time in Fusion.
  18. I think you had clear requirements and elicited the key information (I've been retired from IT for six years, but it still shows through... 🙂)... Yeah, if I were to play sax in a band, I'd want something more than the odd 8 bars in a few pieces.
  19. I should be able to make it. I'm just waiting to get the gig dates for the brass band I'll be working with (I will write more about that under my "non rock'n'roll bassist" thread
  20. Me too, otherwise I'd have it GLWTS
  21. Yeah I had a look at it about a year ago, and decided to keep looking. Either it was limited in programmability or there was no ADSR on each step, I can't remember exactly. The Polyend Mess has it's own issues BTW with pitch stability on some steps which I've never encountered with the other pedals (Moment Machine etc.). I'm assuming this is simply a development snag and it'll get addressed in the future at some point.
  22. Don’t Sit Down ’Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair - Arctic Monkeys
  23. I'd buy one if they put the bridge closer to the pickups, and the pickups closer to the neck, like McCartney's Hofner. 🤔
  24. I'm Still Standing - Sir Reginald Of Dwight.
