Anyone solder wires into mains plugs?
itu replied to Steve Browning's topic in Repairs and Technical
If the copper cable is tinned, it will become brittle compared to flexible pure copper. Therefore it can become loose under the screw, not because the screw gets loose. -

The nano-sized ones are now on the EHX website for $122 USD. Wonder when we'll be able to get our hands on them. I've wanted an op-amp muff for a little while and this may be the one.

Thats what we use. One idea is you could use the built in Amp sim on your channel of the IEM. This gives it a bit of life. My bass player DI's in to ours, and the bass sounds ok to me in my IEM's. Not spectacular, but as its a direct input with nothing as far as FX goes, its a sound I would be happy with if I was were playing bass. I'd say if the Guitars are sounding ok (and the drums?) then it could well be the fit of the IEM's or a drastic EQ making you lose the low end. Ive had occasions where my IEM mix has got drowned out by the stage volume and its sound awful, but re seating the IEM's fix it. I get a good fit, but if I shout or smile too much I find the fit can loosen a bit, and that can let too much noise in.

Yes, I probably should have mentioned the weight, it's around the same as my JMJ and noticeably heavier than the Sandberg but I do find it easily manageable with a wide strap. -
I've just asked, and it's a Behringer XR18 with Mixing Desk app? Mixing Station, I should say..

Nice! I've just ordered one of the light bars (below) which seems to be a similar thing to the vertical light bars in the photo. I'm thinking maybe in the first instance to lay it on the floor by our mic stands, but I'll have to see how that looks. p.s. please stop posting cool lighting photos, it has a real world impact on my bank balance! 😆 😆

For a bit of 80s pop/rock in Lincolnshire, we're going into Christmas week with a gig on Sunday 21st December. It's at Edward's in Grantham which is a great place with free entry and a late afternoon start. So you can party like it's 1985 and be fresh for Monday morning!

Your best (and worst!) bass gear purchases of 2025?

Picked up these 2, both of which are ace. 1982 Westone Thunder 1 and a Joyo BA30. Amp sits on my work desk, has Bluetooth playback, a compressor, good EQ and a passive radiator. Kicks out a solid sound for one 4” driver! The Westone is just a solid slab of wood, simple and great fun. -
I had an Ohm cab which I used with a Laney PB150 head. At some point I decided to go small and lightweight, and pxed them for a GK 200MB combo.

So I have gone ahead and ordered the HB for her along with the Fender short scale gig bag which had good reviews. Just looking at a small combo for her. I was going to get the 20w HB bass combo at £70 but the reviews didn't seem too good. So I'll keep my eye out for something second hand. After that, I'll probably change the strings to a lighter gauge as well once I've looked at what's available. -
Mine is my lightweight bass! Its definitely lighter than my Spector and doesn't neck dive.

+1 for the HB. These basses punch way above their weight in every respect. Err, except weight, that is 🙂
