  1. Past hour
  2. Now unforgotten
  3. Yes it would. The other advantage being, for smaller gigs, you need only take one cab.
  4. Thank you Joe - yes, pretty much the same with the neck. I'm far from Jaco, but those who've played on this have all commented how wonderful it plays & with eyes closed is basically the best of the Fender MIJs!
  5. Little fluffy clouds - The Orb
  6. would look cool though lol
  7. The other option is two x SVT112 cabs as a stack ? Pricey way to do it though
  8. I was today years old when I learned this site does in fact have signatures - and I have just switched the option on to make them visible.
  9. I'd definitely dob them in to the fire service and the environmental health department of the relevant local authority.
  10. This. There's such a big move to modellers / IEMs even for small pub bands. I haven't seen a raging JCM800 for a good decade.
  11. I don't know if bands are getting quieter. The quality of live sound is vastly improved from the 70s and 80s, but clearer does not necessarily mean quieter.
  12. If Pirate treat their AI chatbots as members of staff by paying national minimum wage, NI & tax together with sick leave, holiday leave and other employment rights, then it’s perhaps fair to apply policies against using the public using inappropriate language toward them. Until that day, it’s an overreaction on Pirate’s part.
  13. I am actually going down this route with Phil Starr it was just an idea, but if the cab really is 30Kg then it's still a bit heavy
  14. Oh I’ve heard such great things about the elf amp.

    Pedal(board) extras

My compressor (Spectracomp) sits under my board, always on. I put a Loknob on it to keep it locked in place https://www.daddario.com/products/accessories/loknob/loknob-standard/ Quite useful. Peacepoti also do locking knobs https://peacepoti.com Another useful pedalboard extra is a small reading light for dark stages
  16. Hi all, I've attempted to setup the bass properly using THIS video as a reference, and must say that the results were pretty awesome (Thanks BassBuzz / Josh Fossgreen, in case you're here)! Adjusting the truss rod made the biggest difference, and everything sounded substantially cleaner. Thanks to everyone who directed me down this route. However, the most noticeable improvement was when I plugged in a pair of headphones to the amp. That made it sound incredible! I think that perhaps it's time to upgrade my amp. Keeping in mind that I only plan to play at home in a pretty small room, what kind of specs and brands do you think I should be looking for? I definitely won't need an immense amount of power and volume, and I would prefer to not use headphones. In terms of size, the smaller the better. I like playing heavier music, like metal, and will buy a distortion pedal at some point. Thanks again for the invaluable advice!
  17. First 'proper' bass, a Jetglo bought for my 16th in 1980*, I had it for about four years, sold it for an arse-clenchingly small amount, bought a 70s P** which wasn't very good, then about a year later Pointy Things were all over the place and I succumbed to them for a good while...bought a new one for my 50th (the old misty-eyed nostalgia thing), really didn't get on with it so it went back by return post, then I thought I'd made a mistake so I bought another and realised nope, I hadn't... *Not wanting to sound to privileged, this was a 'No, don't want a party, no, don't want anything else, yes, you can have all the money I get from anywhere else, I JUST WANT TO BE GEDDY LEE...' **And I was so numb I've no idea what year it actually was; it was black and maple, and so was JJB's, soooo...
  18. ISTBC. Yes its actually 'Disturbing the Peace'... but I think you knew what I meant.
  19. I'll do that. Thank you. I also have an 8ohm 2x10 cab that i could use instead of the 4ohm 1x12. I'll use that at a different session just so i don't change everything at once. Thanks for replies chaps. Much appreciated.
  20. Yeah, think the roasting process just brought out the figuring a lot.
  21. Had a polar white one in 80's and didn't keep it long. Just couldn't get a tone i liked. Its the only bass i have no pics of. Dave
  22. Nerdy pic of my three Goodfellow’s. Quaint basses indeed.
  23. Get Off Of My Cloud - Rolling Stones
