Just found out this from a non musical friend. https://www.thebusinessdesk.com/yorkshire/news/2140154-musical-instrument-retailer-closes-stores-blaming-shrinking-margins/
  4. Oh, I can tell you that now: the new amp modelling will be indistinguishable from the HX's amp modelling in a blind AB test.

  6. Thanks. I love the Tonhammer + SVT810 combo. Very punchy.
  7. It's a superb example of Carol Kaye's bass of choice from 2002. These don't come up too often. Condition is remarkable for the age. It's even got the plastic film on the cavity covers. It's Korean-built and we know they know how to do neck-through properly. The build quality is stunning as is the grain of the ash wings. The neck profile is what I'd call slim modern J. Controls are: Vol, Blend, Treble, Bass. It's been deep cleaned and set up beautifully (med/low) with D'Addario EXL170BT strings. that's a balanced tension set. As per all my rosewood board instruments, it's been treated with Montypresso. Frets are level and polished to 7000 grit. All electronics have been checked and all pots cleaned. New battery fitted today. Truss rod is perfect. It's 4.4kg. I've got proper packaging and am happy to ship insured at buyers expense, which will be about £30. If you're undecided and fancy trying it out, I can usually accommodate a try-out with some notice weekdays or weekends.

  8. Thanks (and for your other reply). I now have both at home and feel the NUX is going to stay. I cant see me going direct to house at the moment, but i do use headphones all the time at home. The NUX just feels warmer and rounder, even without the IR on. It has a kick i couldn’t get from the Laney. The Laney just seems a bit weak to me. The EQ is quite subtle. As you say, it’s probably a better front end for an amp. I also like the fact that the NUX is simple to use. Very much like my BDDI. The Laney is easy to use but i found i was messing about with the switched and Mid controls a bit too much. The NUX will stay.
  9. Normally green would be my last choice for an instrument but this bass is just perfect looking, such a great spec and look, i'll definitely be buying a ticket or two. just out of interest what strings are fitted? Matt
  10. Definitely has some cool features, will be interesting to see what the new amp modelling sounds like. I find it funny how excited people are about the bass-centric Anagram despite the fact it ship with so little, the Stadium is clearly guitar focused but still ships with double the number of bass amps. The anagram amps dont even model saturation! The stuff about captures was all very ambiguous but the cloud training was cool. The search functionality was welcome, I’d love to have the option to toggle visibility of effects so you could hide all the stuff you're not interested in too. Some very cool stuff in there id never use like on-device stem splitting of uploaded mp3s so you can cut out the bass etc. Would be really handy for practicing. I'm very excited to see what the Stomp equivalent looks like in a few years. God its an ugly design though, inside and out.
  11. I think mine is about 96lbs.
  12. Hi Ian, Many devices do not like having their outputs mixed with other devices' outputs via a simple hardwired joiner (essentially, a Y-cable used backwards) as the outputs can interfere with each other. There's a good tech note on it called "Why Not Wye" from the former Rane company Here if you want to dig into a possible way of alleviating that problem. A simpler solution, if you have a spare input channel on your desk, is to split the bass input into 2 channels - EQ one for FOH and the other for IEMs, and only include the latter in your monitor mix. Many desks can do this kind of double patching internally, so you might not even need any external hardware; check the manual for the CQ to see if this would work for you. If the desk can't do it internally, then a simple y-split of the cable going into the desk would still be cheap & easy. HTH, David.

    East Pre Amps

Hiya, I have dropped you a pm 😊 Look forward to hearing from you!
  19. Ah - Oops! I’ll bring some PG!
  20. Goodness knows how they picked the prices with the tarriff uncertainty and what that will mean for the U.K. prices
  21. Looks like a brother from another mother! Nice, did look at five string Squires pre-purchase but there were few about. Don't bother droping in on shops for a set of strings. Tried all four shops within 20 minutes of me in Merseyside and none had a set. Thought that was an easy ask, but will just order in future! My squire wasn't especially light, but I'm guessing your 5 is still lighter than 5.6kg?
  22. Hi, do you know if these are alnico III or V magnets?
