I had been looking for a bat winged Harmony for some years , and had also told myself that I was not going to import any more guitars from the US. When it happens , it happens. I love this bass , it’s a classic thumper.

Irrational dislikes? visually messy pedalboards too many wires basses that don't look normal (not in the popular styles of Fender, Musicman,etc) Fender Mustangs headless basses bandmates who repeat the same old corny jokes (and chuckle away before they can get it out of their mouths) on stage to an unimpressed audience - maybe that's rational Flea's playing (sorry fans), but not his basslines grating colours!

Another gorgeous Mike Stern ballad, the latest transcription is the complete Mark Egan performance of the tune 'Goodbye Again' from the 1986 Stern album, 'Upside Downside'. A less than usual glamour shot. Been a bit busy ripping out a downstairs loo and workshop full of said rooms new fittings, so I'm limited to doing small stuff on the ironing board at the moment. Pickguard should be here tomorrow. Machines are installed. Neck is (like the other), great quality. Profile is chunky. It will need oiling and ill probably sand off the finish on the back of the neck. Once the plate is here, I'll do final measurements afore routing out the pickup cavity. The guard isn't white.

Totally agree. I wouldn’t buy a refin either, but it seems people do and at least this one comes with provenance and a huge amount of evidence to support it, not like some of the junk out there.

You consider 9 lbs 1 oz to be a "bit of a boat anchor"?? I would have thought that was pretty damn good for an old Fender.
