  2. After picking up the excellent MB102Energy cab from a fellow basschatter my LM4 arrived from Thomann ( considerably lower in price to U.K. stores ) Set it on top of cab and played my PBass through it 1: Wow this is a loud amp considering I’m going into a single 8ohm cab 2: Quiet ( I’ve read noisy fan complaints but this 2025 model is very quiet. 3: EQ is excellent and the 4 band works very well. 4: Mute Function 5: Selector for flat or scooped EQ works well, footswitchable too 6: Old School control rolls off the top end and makes it sound more like an old Ashdown amp warm and slightly woolly ! 7: Light ( preferred the LM4 as it’s a metal case, 58R is plastic ) 8: Sound is very good, clear punchy and makes a good match with a PBass Very pleased with this rig and not out of place at home or jam sessions, rehearsals and gigs I used a rubber mat under the amp ( light heads I normally do ) and stops feet indentation marks in the fur covering !
  3. Bought it from Andre the Giant !
  4. Apparently, the Modulus made early necks were a myth (rrp of a modulus neck was almost as much as the rrp of the G Bass), and they are not actually carbon necks as marketed, they have a maple core with a carbon wrap. Still cracking basses for the money of course, but really interesting marketing choice from Peavey; the manual literally says it's a Carbon Graphite neck with no mention of it being mostly wood. Crazy but there you go. Still want it!
  5. The girls that I was accompanying have found a drummer and a bassist (also teenage girls) who have played at the last two open mics in Tamworth. And last night they did Iron Man, which Phoebe had said she wanted to do a few weeks ago so I'd learnt it, before she recruited the new bassist. Oh well. Anyway, they are good.
  6. Knew I forgot something, it's SPARKLY GOLD
  7. No, just a stereo plug into the ric-o-sound output to a stereo socket into which I plug the transmitter of the Lekato WS Stereo wireless.
  8. What colour is it?
  9. TB5 is the upgraded Factory Status Pre amp replacement as the original Pre's were the weak link on these basses.
  10. What a bargain! And if that's "noodling" on your video, I'm made of spaghetti! GLWTS - beautiful instrument.
  11. True. It depends if the solution solves a specific problem and if the tradeoff for a player makes it worth it. For me it does as: I have an active bass and it helps having a wireless transmitter (dongle or, later, a body pack like that with Mi-Pro M58) that is tucked away from the guitar jack socket and not swinging around etc. I prefer having a Neutrik silent jack on my bass irrespective of the length of cable I need to use - this way I only need to buy one of them. Nice, would that be two jacked cables into one stereo socket?
  12. A fantastic compressor with plenty of tonal variety using 3 styles of compression with their own respective ratios. The SSL Bus compressor, FET 1176 and Darkglass's own Super Symmetry. There is also a lot of great tweaking that can be done via computer with the timings of attack, release and even a HPF. In fantastic condition, including box, manuals, rubber feet etc. Specifications: Hybrid Analog/Digital Compression Pure Analog signal path Blend control 3 built in yet distinct modes of advanced modelled compression Connect to your PC/Mac via Micro-USB (B) Free ‘Darkglass Suite’ software (provides additional fine control and compression models) 10-LED gain reduction meter Touch-Through metal sensors Internal doubling of supply voltage to 18V (allows for extra headroom) I/O: 6.5mm / ¼” Jack Input impedance: 1M Ohm Output impedance: 1k Ohm (9V DC, centre -, 2.1mm, ~250mA current draw)

  15. Yep. Lots of melisma and impromptu scatting these days. Thanks, Mariah f**king Carey. If you've got a horn section, you'll have a tough job getting the sax player to actually play the song. Seems like they're all aspiring Sanborns, Coltranes and Parkers. The two sounds I despise most in music, and that sound the most like small animal strangulation, are harmonica and badly-played alto and tenor saxophone.
  16. Very clean example of one of these. Original box and PSU. It’s great but I just don’t use it. Any questions, fire away.
  17. I got told off for saying something similar on another thread.
  18. Neck pocket - 93mm long Distance from 12th fret to end of heel pocket - c 203mm
  19. For sale are 2 euphonic audio cxl 1x12 cabinets, complete with covers. Great cabs never skipped a beat for me. For those who don’t know, 1x12 cabs with tweeter, in their day very portable. Great sounding cabs. I’m downsizing and moving so it’s time to move them on. looking for £200 per cab & fitted cover. Postage at buyers expense, deals available if you want both cabs. no real trades in mind but try me out with interesting basses if you fancy. jonny
