  1. Past hour
  2. Hey dude, I've sent you a PM.
  3. Cloudbusting - Kate Bush
  4. The NUX MLD is not a bad preamp at all - the drive sounds good, built in cab sim and plenty tweakable, they’re often overlooked cos of the price I think, but I had one and really rated it for ampless gigs, cracking sound out front
  5. A tale to help explain how good I think these cabs are. I've been through a bit of chopping and changing with my rig. I was using one Accugroove Tri112L for band rehearsal and very occasionally both when needed. I decided to get a one cab solution so I had more headroom available with one cab. I bought a MarkBass MB58R P-4. A 600W 4ohm 17.5Kg 2 x 12 with ceramic speakers. I normally use a 'backup' Peavey MiniMax 600W head with it. With the Accugrooves I've was using my GK800 Legacy. I took both rigs along to our last rehearsal. The Accugrooves and the GK won hands down. I haven't tried swapping the heads around but the experience shows just how good these Accugrooves are.
  6. Looking forward to seeing it! I hope you love it!
  7. I’m a little stretched and the band (covers) has a gig coming up which as much as I’d like to do work and family commitments take precedence! There may be more in the future as we’d like to do more. heres some more details 4/5 piece, ages 21-70 ! Usual pub covers plus a few others, can provide a full list of then to interested parties. Most gigs there is some sort of remittance (cash) but some are not. Great bunch of experienced folk who get on with it and dont take it too seriously. dep needed: 20/7/2025 St Neots Bands in the park (think I got £40 for this gig last year plus a beer, this is not guaranteed) If you think this is for you give me a PM on Basschat I check in most days.
  8. More 80s pop Kenny Loggins - Welcome to Heartlight | Vernon Porter
  9. Looks much better with the black guard imo, nice
  10. I can’t….. I can’t try anymore preamps 😭 @Happy Jack was right 😂
  11. The Melvin Lee Davis preamp with DI and IR loader is a shout. It’s has a sweepable mid frequency which is ideal for double bass. Hi and low pass filter (you adjust via computer software then it is set once you unplug). Three amps available including the Aguilar tonehammer and you can load I.R cabs if you are going in ears. I literally have put mine up for sale in the effects thread. It’s very very very capable. I play pbass, flats with the b15 I.R cab sim and Aguilar amp. Puts a smile on my face.
  12. Amazing looking bass. The holes below the bridge pickup implies it had a MIDI pickup fitted in the past.
  13. Good to hear about that experience 2.4GHz v 5.8GHz. I wonder if the costs are higher with the electronics, as Xvive are charging 10-20% more for the 5.8 version in the UK.
  14. Barefaced Big Baby This is the first version of the cab as confirmed by Alex. It has a 12” Woofer and concentric tweeter. It’s 350 watts I believe and 8 ohms. A fantastic cab in excellent condition but a bit too big for my limited storage. I’d be interested in a sale or a swap for a smaller Barefaced cab (Midget, Compact or 10 perhaps) in excellent condition and of a similar power rating. The cab comes with a nice Roqsolid cover also in excellent condition. It weighs 16.9 kgs with the cover so nice and light. Measurement wise it is 64cms in height, 50 wide and 34cms deep. There is a tiny ding that has been touched up on the underside and to the right of the front port/vent area. The cloth is excellent and so is the covering. The handle rubber has come away slightly but you can only see this when pulling the handle. I could post if necessary but it will be at the buyer’s cost. Pickup preferred. I don’t use a car so I can’t meet halfway. Sorry. UK only. PM me any questions or offers. Thanks.

  15. Re 2.4ghz vs 5.8ghz Recently, I did a gig as a sound guy. I had two devices connected to the bands Behringer X-Air XR18 running an external dual band router, one on 2.4ghz and one on 5.8ghz. The 5.8ghz connection dropped out two or three times during the gig whereas the 2.4 stayed rock solid all night. That said, I see that X-Vive have now brought out the U45 - a 5.8ghz version of the U4
  16. Thank you so much for posting the update. She looks beautiful, to see his name on the headstock made me 😢 but the positivity she will bring will be amazing! I found Nick's original drawing of her at his studio. He too was talented at DT at school although he was always too busy impersonating our teachers!! Kat 🩵
  17. Whilst you're at it, arrange with the band to have a member (at least) join the ISM or Musicians Union. You'll have access to their advice, legal department, PLI, gear insurance and most importantly template contracts to create your own, so that you don't get stuffed by unscrupulous "venues". when they skirt around accepted booking practices.
  18. You can buy the preamp with either one or two battery clips. I'm guessing they are connected in serial for an 18v supply (?)
  19. The Topic That Wouldn't Die ...
  20. Yeah we've spoken to Girdwoods, hopefully get in there next year. We were offered a cancellation slot about a month back but singer and guitarist were both working so couldn't do it. I've been back to see a few bands there recently since I'm back in the area. Always liked the place.
  21. Today
  22. Done, hope it works out ok in the end
