I hope the unit gives you a long and happy life of pleasure.

Same for me other than I have 3 basses.
-
Right now, I have four basses. Each one is the best bass I've ever played.

Tell me you don’t miss playing in a proper ground. If Fulham left Craven Cottage that would be the end for me. PS Saw the Doobies twice in 74. As with Springsteen I don’t dare go again, it couldn’t be the same…

One Cannon, that's not overplaying in the 1812. Below is an example of overplaying in the 1812: 1812 Overture: "In the sections that contain cannon shots, actual cannons are sometimes replaced by howitzers, tanks, fireworks, recorded cannons, a piece of staging, usually hit with large wooden mallets or sledgehammers as used in Mahler's 6th Symphony. Bass drums, and gongs/tam-tams are also regularly used as cannon substitutes or adjuncts in indoor performances!"

The issue you're going to have with tablature is that it doesn't usually give you a clue of the rhythm. Can you follow the chord symbols and improvise the parts? Also, are the songs printed in classical notation?

I found this weird thing - Musontek FurFur - when something tempted me to type "fuzz" into search bar of a local e-commerce platform. It immediately caught my attention do to its ridiculous looks, but I checked YouTube and was sold when a guy did nice Iommi with it and decided to chance it for bass. Turned out it is a wonderful general purpose fuzz with attitude and lots of tonal capabilities. It can be fine tuned from regular distortion to outrageous, screaming chugs. With a low gain OF before it it shines even more. It is tiny (think Mooer size), well-made (checked the guts, the PCB is nicer than in EHX stuff!), nicely packaged, and relatively cheap. Controls: FUR = Fuzz RUF = Volume (unity with clean signal at 9'o clock) L/M/H = voicing toggle (actually in a different order - I take it it's a 1-0-1 switch, so I'd argue the letters mean: L = Lancinate (bright), M = Muddy (dark), H = Heaving (medium); if the switch ever breaks, I'll substitute it with a rotary switch putting the modes in more intuitive order). It also has two easy-access trim-pots for BIAS and BODY on the side.

I should have clarified that the MiPro has stereo combi inputs so if I was taking Aux outs (x2) they'd be going to L / R inputs on the transmitter.

Not exactly top shelf, but I've got one of these things and I'm impressed: M-VAVE Tank-B It's got a rechargeable battery, USB-C connection. It has a power switch. It has an XLR out, as well as a 6.35mm TS socket and headphones output. Basically it's a small FX unit, with a number of cab and amplifier emulations, basic modulation effects, compressor and noise gate, and you can store and recall presets. The tuner is not the most user friendly or accurate, but it's certainly sufficient for home use. It can also act as a sound card to record even on a mobile phone. You can play along to music via bluetooth, too... and it's tiny. Prices vary, they tend to be around £60-70, but you can find them on AliExpress for around £50, frequently. I'm not recommending it because it's cheap, but because I like how it sounds and everything it can do. https://www.scribd.com/document/711832600/M-Vave-Tank-B-Manual https://www.cuvave.com/productinfo/1106118.html

How do we feel about me approaching someone I know to do a talk on pickups? He is very very good with an audience and does it for a living. I reckon if we got the numbers up to 40+ I could convince him. It's just a matter of whether we're actually interested. If we videoed it, and put it on The You Tube, as Uncle Bryn calls it, it could be worth while for him.
