May the Farce be with you , Compo Compo Composition challenge
Jean-Luc Pickguard replied to lurksalot's topic in Recording
Here's my entry for this month: Woof! by Jinky Fuzz featuring Ralph. For this I used a Logic Pro Drummer, with Fender JMJ Mustang bass and Epiphone Les Paul Custom recorded via my focusrite 2i2 3rd gen interface. The Organ and FX are from logic's built-in plugins. A few Public domain doggie barking samples were played using Logic's simple sampler. -

Just thought I’d drop this one here from Babylon by Bus, one of the best songs on the album for me and such a wonderful Bassline from Aston, it’s one I’m re learning at the moment and every time I hear it I notice something slightly different, so good

Pea Turgh started following NCD - a derelict Sunn project.

Impressive looking cab! Would be ace to get the box measurements to see what driver would suit the box/port size.

Something weird has happened today. My website has averaged around 130-150 hits a day from about 40-50 people but today it has had 400+ hits from 330 people. Did someone mention it on TV somewhere 😆

Turmeric really helped my knees. I've been taking it for over a year and it's got rid of the hesitation before the first decent of the stairs in the morning I have a bit of pain in one finger joint though. I have been recommended green lipped mussel extract. After many months of discomfort, it seems to be abating after a couple of weeks of taking the tablets. They are very high in omega-3

The Pulse does sound great in the videos I've seen. I think it would suit me better than the Ethos. The Euro LX is pushing the budget a bit but definitely a possibility. I'm currently trying to decide whether to go 4 string and tune down to C# for the new band or just go 5 string. If I go 5 it'll avoid setup issues but the G string will probably never get used. There's also the multi scale Dimension 4 confusing matters.

Honestly Chris, I wish you just come off the fence about these things at times 🤣🤣

Yep, have to agree with you @Mickeyboro! Pete's basses not only look great, they sound great too... ... As anyone who attended the 13th South East Bass Bash in 2019 will know. Pete was one of our guest speakers that day and gave a great demo of some of his custom builds: I'm not a fretless player, but I know a great sounding bass / fretless bass when I hear one, and Pete's bass really do sound great! As is often said around here, whoever buys this bass will not be disappointed. GLWTS Pete 👍😊

Lozz196 started following NCD Barefaced 212

They are great cabs Dave, I had two of the ones with tweeters (tho never used those), only ever used both for show as one was plenty enough.
-
Wood varies massively. I”ve had 8lb jazz basses and 10lb jazz basses. Each tree is unique so it’s impossible for basses to all weight the same for a particular model.

Saves carrying both my Mesa Subway cabs up those bloomin stairs. I aint getting any younger you know. 😂 The practice rig you used is the Mpulse 600 into my Mesa PH212 cab but both are quite heavy. Don't keep the Mesa Subway cabs in the house cause i'm getting lazy. I think the Barefaced cab sounds similar to the Mesa PH212 cab tho. Not much in it. The PH212 is better than the Subway cabs for tone IMO but not much in it either. The Barefaced is 24Kg same as one of my Mesa cabs so it just makes sense and having wheels on the back edge makes it easy to wheel once up those stairs. Not looking forward to the stairs but the gig should be great fun. Its a good crowd in Dundee or it was last time we played. Hope they all come back for more. Dave

100% he'll love it. My VM4 is my goto bass for everything. I did use the MarloweDK with the punk band but now that's finished its become my back up for the VM4. I have used it on occasion at a Glam gig and it works quite well. Guitarist likes the Marlowe and my wife says it sounds clearer than the VM4. No matter what they are superb basses @martthebass Dave

That`s high praise indeed Dave having had a play through your man cave amp and cab setup which was rather loud I take it the only way in the Beat Gen is up those bloomin stairs? Good job the new cab is an easy lift. Have fun!

… err one two miss a few … 😂 … so when you say comps, do you mean total number or different ones 🤣 I also managed to get one of @LukeFRC Aotearoa pedals, super impressed with the whole concept behind the project, from scaling down an existing circuit, enclosure selection and graphic design. Top stuff 😎
