These look great ! I used to have an original Fender Telecaster bass . I had it plugged into an Aguilar amp head and no tweeter cab at the time. Great for trouser flapping ,and sock vibrating etc . Solely recording stuff at home these days means that it wouldn’t be practical to get one now , but if I was still gigging I’d have snapped one of these up . Love the look of these .

Yes I’m finding that too, lately my YouTube has been flooded with AI reggae, some of it I must admit is really good but very clean like you say, also some are using pictures of original artists to draw you in, when I’m sure it isn’t them singing

1962 Fender Precision basket case?
SurroundedByManatees replied to danbanbass's topic in Bass Guitars
When listed on here it was initially £6.995.... with the body being listed as altered but original. Before it got listed for sale at bass direct, someone determined that the body is not original (I assume they made sure the typical markings aren't present under the refin). -

If you get ones that are actually tapered, please share a link.

Christ, does it devalue the bass if you clean it (internally)?

Tonerider Jazz pickups... how good are they really?

Toneriders in my Jazz here. Coupled with a John East J-Retro they are great to my old ears. -
A decent new dub album from Zion I Kings: ....my only issue with this and most other modern dub albums is they can sound a bit 'clean' and perfect to me, like it's not that far off what I try to make on a Laptop and that Laptop production process is what I can picture in my head. Whereas something like 1970s Black Ark type productions just give more of a feel of a hot smoky Jamaican ramshackle studio and live musicians.

You need to be careful about using water-based cleansers on untreated wood. It may not hurt if you apply and wipe it off quickly, but wetting untreated wood can cause it to swell as it absorbs the water.

Just bought a cab from Peter. Lovely chap, transaction was perfectly straight forward and I am very happy. I would not hesitate to do business with Peter again.

Stingray over the years…what to know before buying?
ian61 replied to Thunderpaws's topic in Bass Guitars
And they weren't all great either. I bought a 77 Ray in 1980 and it was a bit below par really. Heavy with the black finish coming off in sheets and never seemed to have a lot of output. -
A fool and his money. So your basically paying say, 4.0K for the re-machined maple part of the neck and tuners? The rest could all be penny h'penny anything. Incredible.

Danny Sapko discovers… (now including follow up vid that is worse!)
Dood replied to fretmeister's topic in General Discussion
A point well made, though I fear that social media, or rather the companies who run the platforms have done such a “good” job at engineering (and by that I mean controlling) those using the platforms, that no one can handle any more than about 30 seconds of any video before the next micro dopamine hit is required triggering and almost involuntary action to scroll. I know people who can’t even list to a whole song in the car before they have to hit next. Any decent long-form productions are swamped by the algorithm spitting out the BS that we’ve spent 13 pages talking about instead. 😔 I would love for 13 pages about Bass The World’s gear, Bass Player Magazine’s reviews, The Jonny Dibbles and Bass Bonedos of this world being discussed and given the support our community needs. Support where it is needed. -

Gorgeous. I've dropped similar wedge on something else with EMGs, otherwise I'd be booking a ferry ticket! 😀
