  3. … the benefit of having an expandable board 👍🏻
  4. Just seen this https://www.breezysports.co.uk/2025/06/16/new-era-led-zeppelin-announces-2026-farewell-tour-one-last-ride-marks-the-end-of-a-rock-legends-era-dates-and-cities-revealed/ Apparently hell has frozen over (apologies to The Eagles) Anybody want to buy a kidney or lung from me so I can afford to go.... One not very careful owner but I've never smoked
  5. Hmm, yeah, I suppose we don't want to derail too much from the OP and his bass. I quite liked those Stentors when I've tried them, though the stock endpin isn't long enough for my height and where I like the bass to sit. The ones I'd played seemed quite articulate for pizz playing, possibly the petite shoulders and proportions help with that. And setup-wise there are points in between high tension steels and the lowest tension rockabilly slap strings, you don't have to go all the way to one end or the other if you want to explore a range of styles and still be slap-friendly. Someone else will have more specific reputations, I'm firmly I'm the Spirocore camp and don't have much experience outside of it!
  6. Hi all Tricky one to price this so feel free to message if you think I’m wildly wrong in either direction. It’s a wicked P bass that I’ve had for quite a while, fully Japanese early 90s (Fujigen) made. Weighs in at only 3.6kg. The neck is from a PB-62US, with the big reverse tuners, dark rosewood board and 60s logo. There’s a bit of a flame to the maple on certain lights. 44mm nut. The body is from a Squier Silver Series Precision Bass SPB33 (stamped in the neck pocket). These are great basses which I have another of. I believe electronics and pickup are original, the tone control is great, lots of options across the range rather than just on/off that you often get. Condition: Body, pretty worn and some chips to the finish, you can see some lines where the 3pc body joins together in certain lights. It’s looks great and has a nice genuine ‘relic’ vibe to it. The pickup poles and screws have a bit of rust on them but nothing that affects the sound Neck: Probably better condition than the body, lots of minor dents and dings but fair condition for a 30+ year old neck. The PB62US P Basses go for £1000+ and the silver series squiers look to be around £500 so I’m starting this at £650 but open to offers - a chance to get a great workhorse P bass with a high end Japanese neck for much cheaper than you otherwise would. Any questions, give me a shout. Shipping possible but collection preferred from Chessington or Central London. Thanks Dan
  7. … if you have a Cioks DC7 you could try one the Crux unit add-ons?
  8. Is this the guy in Finland? If it is, then I have one of his creations in a Wal style. Very nice bass. He posted on the US bass site a good many times under the MPU name, I believe.
  9. I find it amazing in this day & age, where everyone carries a calendar with them (in their phone) all the time, that it takes some so long to reply with availability. Look at calendar, reply, not the hardest task of the day.
  10. Did it! Wooo. Just thought about Top Gun incidental music… Yamaha BB414, Yamaha AES800b guitar. hangover, tea and Battenberg. and no…I can’t get the long working; why break the habit of a lifetime https://on.soundcloud.com/BSQxU5CAoHXxMLYvkt
  11. Probably been said already, but it sounds like a professionalism issue on the part of the musicians who don't bother to commit to the idea.
  12. This might sound silly but have you tried a smaller tip? Ive always gone for the largest in the past. Ram it in and it will stay put, only I find it doesn't quite go in as far as it should. When I went down a size I found the tip would go a bit further in to the ear canal, and the fit was more secure. it also meant the IEM could sit a bit more secure in the ear.
  13. It's a superb example of Carol Kaye's bass of choice from 2002. These don't come up too often. Condition is remarkable for the age. It's even got the plastic film on the cavity covers. It's Korean-built and we know they know how to do neck-through properly. The build quality is stunning as is the grain of the ash wings. The neck profile is what I'd call slim modern J. Controls are: Vol, Blend, Treble, Bass. It's been deep cleaned and set up beautifully (med/low) with D'Addario EXL170BT strings. that's a balanced tension set. As per all my rosewood board instruments, it's been treated with Montypresso. Frets are level and polished to 7000 grit. All electronics have been checked and all pots cleaned. New battery fitted today. Truss rod is perfect. It's 4.4kg. I've got proper packaging and am happy to ship insured at buyers expense, which will be about £30. If you're undecided and fancy trying it out, I can usually accommodate a try-out with some notice weekdays or weekends.

  14. Cre8audio West Pest Westcoast Style Standalone Semi Modular Synth Here’s my West Pest synth. It’s a design based on Don Buchla’s west coast style synthesiser concept. Made by Cre8audio in partnership with Pittsburg Modular. It’s got a built in sequencer and is very powerful for a small form single oscillator synth. It can be used as a standalone synth in its case with independent PSU (included) or added to a eurorack system. It can be patched with any modular eurorack or similar module or synth. In excellent condition. I own two with one in my eurorack so this isn’t getting the attention it deserves. Great little easy to use synth to introduce you to modular synthesis and patching. It comes boxed with four patch leads, PSU and quick start sheet. Full manual online. Price includes UK postage. Info here - https://www.cre8audio.com/westpest
  15. Erica Synths Pico System III Eurorack Version This is a fantastic two oscillator modular system with sequencer, delay and mixer. You can also use ‘preset’ cards to access sounds instantly. It comes with 5 pre patched cards and 5 to create your own sounds. One I’ve already patched to make a simple test preset for the sequencer which can easily be desoldered and reset. The unit is boxed and comes with manual, splitter, cards, overlay ‘patches’ and blank cards. It is in excellent condition and includes the ribbon lead to connect to your eurorack. The patch leads in the first photograph are not included. Note that this is the eurorack version and not the standalone version. A great modular synth in excellent condition. Price includes UK postage.
  16. Yamaha DXR 8 Active Speaker This unit has been used as a keyboard monitor and comes with brand new Yamaha outdoor semi waterproof cover and mains lead. It is in good condition although it has lost its control knob caps. Everything works as it ought to. It is in very good cosmetic condition It’s very powerful for an 8” active cab. Great little multi purpose speaker. The original woofer has been replaced with a recommended Fane equivalent. Power Output: Dynamic: 1100W (LF: 950W HF: 150W) / Continuous: 700W (LF: 600W HF: 100W) Frequency Range: 57Hz - 20kHz Inputs: XLR-3-31 x1 , INPUT2: Phone x2, INPUT3: RCA PIN x 2, THRU: XLR3-32 x 1 (Parallel with INPUT 1 ), LINK OUT: XLR x 1 Pole Mounts: 2 options - 1 straight and 1 angular socket for mounting at downward angles Dimensions: 280mm (11") x 458mm (18") x 280mm (11") Weight: 13.5kg (29.8lbs) Pickup preferred but I can post at buyer’s cost. It is very well built and the packed weight will reflect this so I envisage it will be around £20 to post it. UK only. Priced to reflect the replacement driver and lack of control caps.
  17. Yes and no thanks sorry it’s cheap enough. Cheers.
  18. I have an Argon 8, which is the one with fewer keys (but exactly the same synth). I also have a Carbon 5, which is the smaller carbon. It is a very deep synth which definitely has its own character, most of that comes from its wavetables, it sounds fairly digital. Its fun to play with though I have never played it live. You can't - it is 'just a synth with wavetables' but that doesn't detract from what those wavetables are, and how many there are (and that you have multiple wavetables that you can merge between. I have a synth you can load wavetables on, the Blofeld, and I don't. If you are after a synth with its own character and not trying to emulate anything else, it is a great synth - I don't know what the 61 key keyboard is like, but the smaller one on mine is a really nice keybed.

  20. Yes - looks like Leo never got round to inventing the Precision Banjo
  21. No personal experience with this one, sorry, but it does come highly regarded especially with the latest firmware upgrade. Modal have had their share of quirkiness and bugs, but I get the feeling this one is among their best in those respects. Are you only looking at wavetable synths, or is this more a matter of price point and similar? From the corporate mumbo jumbo, I can't make out whether it lets you make your own waveforms. If it doesn't, it's just a "synth with wavetables" as a competitor honestly called its machine. To me personally, it'd be on my shortlist even if it appears to be just a "synth with wavetables", as it sounds luvverly and highly usable. Do make sure you can get the latest firmware though; Modal have a long history of financial problems, and I'd not trust the website to be there "forever".

    PMT

And is the better for those differences IMO. Far less strident and the lack of frets adds a nice lazy quality.
