Late again... Friday night we played The Parish in Huddersfield which is an amazing venue. Outstanding PA, crew, and sound. Great beer, and great food. Far too many songs in the set left me absolutely drenched and drained. 23 songs in an hour and 20. On the way home the other guys were saying "it flew by, we need more songs in the set". One of our fans posted some great photos on facebook so I've put a couple here Despite my protests there were 2 extra songs the following night. This was The Gifford in Wolverhampton and I am really starting to hate this venue. The PA is knackered. The landlord and pub staff don't want you there. The load in is horrible. The load out is worse. I enjoyed every minute on the stage and hated every minute off it. There are probably loads of photos and videos but I'd sooner forget it

Advice from Cambridge-based bassists needed!
urbanx replied to TKenrick's topic in General Discussion
I'm not really an 'open mic' attendee, but see posters for them about regularly, actually in town the main ones seem to be: The White Swan on Mill Road - Every Thursday The Alma - Third Sunday Venues I'd recommend to play / meet local bands . musos are mainly: SixSix Bar - The only real dedicated, grass roots venue in the city centre Portland Arms - Dedicated music venue, but just outside of town (crap parking, but well served by busses) -
Fender Jazz MIM 2020 replacement tuners
Martin E replied to ingmar808's topic in Accessories and Misc
Not boring but surprisingly perplexing once you start looking into it - so many different sizes and specs to consider. I replaced the tuners on my MIM Player bass with Gotoh Resolite GB640. Not cheap but made of duralumin, so much lighter, vintage style with long shaft and with a large backplate which will probably cover any existing holes you may have. -
On the one hand, things like the Brassmaster enclosure are silly. But also going too small is silly given what the pedals are used for. It's just asking for trouble having squeezing it all that much with delicate tiny dials and switches right next to something you stomp on. And those red dials and small switches are far too small to notice if they're in the wrong position (especially with this on the floor at a gig). The mini enclosure doesn't even really save much space when plugged in on a pedalboard compared with something like an Origin effects Cali 76 Compact (a well designed pedal enclosure).

For those of the left handed bass playing community. I will have two left handers at the Guitar Show this weekend.

Nice one, and a great outcome
