  1. Past hour
  2. Interesting! This was definitely a case left in the damp.
  3. Kinda long video from someone who is doing the whole livestream thing - but somewhere in there is comparing the MXR, Enzo X, C4 and FI4 all custom settings as he’s the kinda guy who wants you to buy stuff on his patreon …
  4. It's my life - No Doubt, I love the chorus part the bass plays! Also I am going to try Hysteria by Muse and it will definitely be a long term project!
  5. The original is all programmed - probably on a TB303 by the sounds of it and the way the bass line divides up neatly into repeatable 1-bar blocks. The song also relies on the bass and the drums being absolutely metronomically solid and each note being precise, and therefore while the bassist in that clip is way, way better than I'll ever be, I found myself wincing over every tiny hesitation and slightly fluffed note.
  6. The Highlands is a big place, maybe you should hook up with @neepheid and come down to one of the Bass Bashes sharing the driving. Thre's usually a great selection of amps to try out. It looks like you aren't in a hurry at the moment. If you aren't using the preamp section of the amp then have you considered going FRFR and using an active PA speaker for your amplifcation? The QSC 12.2 has been used successfully by several bassists and is 17'4kg, a useful weight saving. If you go for separates then do look at LFSys, they are the best sounding FRFR bass speakers around at the moment. Barefaced are lighter but the LFS more accurate. The Monaco is the heaviest at 14kg. I've used the Monaco, Silverstone I and the Monza. I settled for the Monza.
  7. I have an original old G&G bass case that came with a 1980 bass and that has a pong to it but not that bad. I wonder if these old cases use fish glue in their construction which makes the smell bad over the years.
  8. I can't comment on whether it handles a 5 as I' don't use one. But I can't see any scenario where this cab wouldn't work. It's a cab I expect to keep forever (famous last words). However, there have been small gigs where it has not been the most appropriate cab for the job, and I've used my One10 for those so far. Occasionally I have felt the One10 to be not quite enough, so I've ordered another one. Hopefully by Christmas I'll have all the options covered, 1x10, 2x10, and 3x10 depending on the gig. I love the sound of Barefaced 10" cabs. Rob
  9. I'm currently learning how to play my band's Christmas song. We have a gig coming up on the 28th November which is our last gig of the year so we thought it would be good to include it in the set. It will be an interesting proposition to play live as it was originally pieced together in the studio. I don't think I've ever played the bass/guitar part all the way through in a single pass and the part was written first and foremost to make the song sound good rather than as something I would be able to perform standing up on stage. There's some big leaps from one end of the neck to the other between the verses and choruses.
  10. Check out the OKKO FX Motorbass pedal. I don't know if it's what you want, or need, but it's meant to be instant Lemmy.
  11. Good job - life is always better with a bigger Trace Elliot stack! Re the badge on the 15, lots of people who like this orientation took them off because they didn't like the badge on sideways (I do, and then hook them back on). I suspect if you look closely at the grill on what would be the top right in the picture above you may see some signs of it being removed. If the logo on the 2x10 is riveted on this will be a very late example of these cabs, possibly left over stock from when they went to Peavey. Although I haven't got this specific head I'm pretty certain there wasn't a black light. Instead everything green will fluoresce under black light. I bought some very cheap black light strips from ebay when I did my cab project and they make the amps look awesome:
  12. oops duplicated post...
  13. Have a bump on me - these things are awesome
  14. Today
  15. Set of 4 hipshot licenced 1/2inch chrome clover head tuners. Set of 3+1 so suitable for Musicman stingray or Sterling 4 string. Excellent condition. These are not reversible so won’t fit a 4 in a line headstock
  16. If you want to try anything on top of a clean bass, use a X-over and push the higher frequencies with some dirt pedal(s).
  17. Shakin' All Over - The Who
  18. I have a MB58R 12” combo, superlight and the head is removable. Very impressed with mine, covers a lot of genre territory. If wanting ultralight I can also recommend a TE Elf and a 4 ohm MB58R 2x10” pure, fabulous setup.
  19. Admirably! Mine never struggles.

  21. Don't Doubt ur Vibe - Elon Musk
  22. If i didn't have a Nux Mighty Plug and a Bighead headphone amp, I'd be looking at this. I still might have a look. Perhaps the phone app makes the interface usable. However given IK Multimedia haven't got the world's best UX team, that might be a forlorn hope. I suppose they could have contracted the work out? Rob
  23. The only fool proof method might be buying a new case. My case for my 2000 MIJ Fender P stinks. It's the old glue that causes the stench. I won't tell you what it smells like. Lol Daryl
  24. I heard an AI funk version of The Beatles " Help " . Daryl
  25. She canceled last year at The Bend. We we're contracted to open for her. Daryl
  26. To get the best placement of a sub in a pub you need to get in before opening. Put your sub in the middle of the dance floor designated area. I say designated because it could well be a dining area during daytime. Play some music with a little booty in the bottom. It doesn't have to be loud, only discernible. Check out the possible actual locations for the sub for best bass thump. When the sub is swapped in there and cranked up, hey presto, thump on the dance floor.
  27. I THINK I can see why this didn't go into production based on the failure of the Fender Dimension to gain traction. Stingray fans will nearly always go for an actual Stingray. What we want our favourite brands to be can nearly always be found elsewhere in my experience 🙂
