The craftsmanship on this ..... Just love 30 inch basses now -
True, but it is an easy way to implement Muting. This is very true, In the UK, Profusion PLC are the ICEPower distributors in the UK. They will sell one unit. However, I agree that you will be throwing away money if the unit is not faulty

I think that model is 600W. I toyed with getting one of them about 20 years ago, but the weight put me off. I think the joke is that Ashdown recently launched the new ABM range and the 4x10 are still 35kg and they're trying to charge £1300 for them. It's almost like time has stood still and chiropractic costs have come down.

Odd that nobody would bat an eyelid at buying and selling shoes (to cite a random and completely unrelated example) for profit. Why should basses be any different? Perhaps I'm missing something. -

TIL (actually last night), rickenbacker actually did do some active electronics in a guitar. I never knew that. No basses though. -
😄 I didn't even notice that bit. I did copy and paste the AI result of a Google search, but only because I was in a rush. I don't know how it managed to get the Yamaha as an amp. If you follow the link that it used for the info, it gives Peavey and Trace Elliott for his amps and further down the list, the Yamaha as one of his basses. interestingly, he also used a Squier Precision, according to the source website.

Anyone considered a 12-string conversion?
Wolverinebass replied to NancyJohnson's topic in Bass Guitars
That will have a horrible neck profile for it. That's before you get to all the other nonsense that would have to be done to it to convert it. If you're going to get one, just get a proper one. Either the Schecter Dug Pinnick or get Brooks to make one that has EMG DC's and BTS system in it. Then you're in full Hamer territory. Job done. -

That said, i've also many times bought something because I know it was underpriced and I could definitely at least break even. I've always played them for a bit to see if it works for me (with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions), but as I look at the rack, none of them are still here. -

Again, what you're doing is taking something unplayable and making it playable. Your time and the skill to fix it have value, so that's not necessarily the same thing. It means someone can now enjoy the instrument. I've heard that lots of shops buy stock online. -

Shellac would give you a nice blonde protective finish, it’s easy to apply with a button rag, dries quickly and is hard wearing, multiple layers giving the best results, I’ve done a few this way and always end up happy with the end product

It was a fair price. If it's worth anything more now, that's down to the hard work you've put into its restoration. -
This is really difficult to put a price on this pedal as these are very rare as no longer available. The price includes P&P and not negotiable. it's supplied with the original box and the provided sticker. there is a part that is missing, and that is the battery cover under the pedal itself, this does not effect the operation at all, it has velcro on the bottom of the unit, {please see photo's} which covers the battery cover. Based on the original Geddy Lee YYZ Signature SansAmp pedal, the Geddy Lee MP40 Limited Edition Signature SansAmp celebrates the 40th Anniversary of “Moving Pictures.” This was a milestone album for RUSH that sold over 5 million copies, and a major turning point in Geddy Lee’s bass tone. “Moving Pictures” captivated and influenced generations of bass players, and continues to do so to this day. Custom “Moving Pictures” Inspired Artwork The Geddy Lee MP40 Limited Edition pays tribute to the iconic album cover designed by Hugh Syme with a new black and red color scheme and custom artwork. All-New Shape-shifter Button and Footswitchable Boost The all-analog MP40 SansAmp builds upon the original YYZ pedal with a brand new selectable Boost stomp switch that provides a 12dB presence boost for increased top-end distortion. Additionally, engaging the Shape-shifter button gives you 6dB of Schmegilka on top, which, according to Geddy, “is an indefinable thing of awesomeness! Thanks for looking.

I was replying to someone else's point - why are you popping off at me? Easy, tiger... I'm not with you and I'm not against you - I quote myself - "It helps to remember that there are no right or wrong answers here. Each to their own. I have both active and passive basses, and I enjoy playing all of them." -
denki109 started following Dimarzio Relentless Precision Pickup (Gold)
-
It’s a Dimarzio. It’s Relentless. It’s curvy. Billy Sheehan approves. It’s Gold. For those bassists who are not fans of Spandau Ballet (you are GOOOLD!), the pickup is turning a silvery chrome (Relic Realness) thanks to the rewards of time. It sounds huge. It’s really big sounding. Did I say it sounds big? I am not bigging up the bigness for the sake of bigness. It's also articulate. Big-ticulate, if you will. But you may not. You're still reading my babble. Please reconsider your life changes. Or buy this pickup. It's going cheap.

Also - I actually did get to try a HNB5 in Anderton's back in May, through a MarkBass combo. I agree with the pickup spacing comments: never mind a neck pickup, the fact that it's a 24-fret neck means that that "middle" pickup isn't really in a middle position either. That cover that appears to go under the bridge has me concerned too - unless it's something required for the bridge itself, I don't want to see wood removed when there are structural requirements.
