BCC - anonymity guaranteed OK, think I've taken that too far now. Right, I'm going to call it - Brewdog Union Square, 2pm. Seems like a good shout, you can get beer if you want it, decent alcohol free options if you want it, coffee if you want it, food if you want it. I count 5 participants available (including myself) so far, so I'll book a space for 6 and see how it goes. If we need more room we'll probably be fine.

Interesting. I'd not realised the difference in flexibility. I must admit my main reason to buy orange lawnmower flex was it being hi-vis for teenage boys running amok at our community band break time... though I'm sure the pro cable comes in bright colours too.

That 68 looks tasty Tony and a decent price...

Nice find! There’s something really satisfying and eco responsible about giving new life to a budget bass or an old instrument. A bit of hands on lutherie like that is such a pleasure. I had a similar experience with two DIY kits I built. A natural Jazz Bass and a yellow Precision. They turned out great and became my go to players. I got both from The Guitar Fabrik. Solid parts, good quality, and a fun build all around. If anyone’s curious, they have a nice range of lefty kits too: https://guitarkitfabric.co.uk/products/diy-guitar-kits/diy-electric-left-handed-guitar-kits.html Congrats again!

Many businesses fail when they have to scale up to commercial levels. They lack the capacity, structures and resilience to do this. I think your idea of keeping this as a small-scale hobby business is a good one @Silky999 and I wish you all the best.

I don't have a No.1 per se, they're all favorites for different reasons. With the "drive-time Rock covers" band, I use a pair of Spectors (a Euro 4 and a Euro LX 4) that have the same pickups, same pre-amps, same set-up spec, same Eb standard tuning and same strings. It's run/standby redundancy. They're tools, albeit very pretty ones, to do a job. With the "obscure covers" band, I use a Spector Euro 5 LX with a BBP35 as backup, although I would like to find a Euro 5 or NS5CR. All four are absolute peaches but they get used out in the real world. I have basses that don't go out at the moment but that's mainly because they aren't what I use in these bands. They've all been gigged in the past except the one Spector and that's just because it's new and I haven't taken it to jam night yet.

There are tales on BC and Talkbass of lutheirs who fail catastrophically, and reading some of the tales I can't escape the feeling that many of them failed because they didn't have a good understanding of how things might look in two years time if they proceed on their present trajectory, for example, promised timelines, post-sale care etc. Working methods/T7Cs that work fine when you have 10 orders can fail disastrously when you have 15 Either way, good luck @Silky999

Morning all. Our band is all iems. We go straight into our own mixer and do our own sound. However, we are now lining up a tour where we will be going through the venues sound guy and pa. Is there any way you all use where we can keep our iems and mixes etc but send a separate feed for each instrument to the sound guy/foh. Like an xlr splitter etc? Does anyone have any experience with these or similar?

Erica Synths Pico System III Eurorack Version This is a fantastic two oscillator modular system with sequencer, delay and mixer. You can also use ‘preset’ cards to access sounds instantly. It comes with 5 pre patched cards and 5 to create your own sounds. One I’ve already patched to make a simple test preset for the sequencer which can easily be desoldered and reset. The unit is boxed and comes with manual, splitter, cards, overlay ‘patches’ and blank cards. It is in excellent condition and includes the ribbon lead to connect to your eurorack. The patch leads in the first photograph are not included. Note that this is the eurorack version and not the standalone version. A great modular synth in excellent condition. Price includes UK postage.

Yamaha DXR 8 Active Speaker This unit has been used as a keyboard monitor and comes with brand new Yamaha outdoor semi waterproof cover and mains lead. It is in good condition although it has lost its control knob caps. Everything works as it ought to. It is in very good cosmetic condition It’s very powerful for an 8” active cab. Great little multi purpose speaker. The original woofer has been replaced with a recommended Fane equivalent. Power Output: Dynamic: 1100W (LF: 950W HF: 150W) / Continuous: 700W (LF: 600W HF: 100W) Frequency Range: 57Hz - 20kHz Inputs: XLR-3-31 x1 , INPUT2: Phone x2, INPUT3: RCA PIN x 2, THRU: XLR3-32 x 1 (Parallel with INPUT 1 ), LINK OUT: XLR x 1 Pole Mounts: 2 options - 1 straight and 1 angular socket for mounting at downward angles Dimensions: 280mm (11") x 458mm (18") x 280mm (11") Weight: 13.5kg (29.8lbs) Pickup preferred but I can post at buyer’s cost. It is very well built and the packed weight will reflect this so I envisage it will be around £20 to post it. UK only. Priced to reflect the replacement driver and lack of control caps.

Tokalo started following Fender MIJ Traditional Original '50s P Bass

I bought this beautiful instrument last year for a project that has managed just two gigs in 18 months. I recently joined a new band and now need a different coloured bass. Before I bought it, I tried out the Squier and US versions, and this one has by far the most playable, modern-feeling neck. It weighs 3.8kg / 8.4lb. It’s a joy to play, and the pickup is thunderous. I’ve swapped in the Retrovibe 4-brass-saddle dual-entry bridge for easier intonation (the original will be included). There’s a small dink by the bridge (pictured). Otherwise, there are no marks. It’s got new Newtone Platinum strings, and comes with a Fender gigbag. However. While it’s perfectly playable with a low action, the truss rod won’t tighten any further. So it’s fine with low tension strings, but would struggle with thicker gauges. That’s why I’m selling so cheap.

Intuitively yes, but not if the seller is a business
