  2. Orange O Bass MKII - 2022 Model - Black The Orange O Bass sounds lovely but it gets some shade for the following elements that I have remedied: Neck Dive I installed a high mass bridge. And replaced the machineheads with Resolites. The Neck Dive is virtually non-existent (which the unflattering photo of yours truly will confirm). Playability The set-up was pants when I got this bass. I replaced the nut with a bone version and the strings are set for a much more comfy 41mm type of width. The stock pickup sounded ok but putting in an EMG Geezer Butler pickup really brought his bass to life. The pickup is 4mm closer to where a P Bass pickup normally is located and it creates a fuller yet in-your-face tone that I REALLY love. It comes with an Original O-Bass Gig Bag. I cannot stress how great this bass sounds. I have two O Basses (this was my back-up) and, as I can only use one at time, it seems silly to have it taking up space. Beautifully setup and playable. 3.7 kg And it balances ok with a strap. Collected preferred (I live in East London). Happy to meet up within the confines of the M25 via car. Happy to send it provided that the new owner sorts out the courier.
  3. What would be hard about routing out a cutout with a chisel at the base of the neck ? It would be hidden by the plate and a neat solution to your unlike @HeadlessBassist if you like the bass in every other way it seems a trivial fix
  4. See I used to think they were hideous, and then one day it just switched. Now I have one and wouldn't be without it.
  5. Not too late you can just turn up on the day - 10am onwards
  6. Well, yes and no... If you run Rick-O-Sound then you can control each pickup separately. If you want to play anything Chris Squire, pull the Treble pickup tone and then go "Oh!". The bypass pot is an easy fit which does unlock some variations.
  7. Rics are the best basses money can buy.
  8. Yep it was me off of EBay, I’m in London will think of a day to collect.
  9. He is not wrong. I have owned RA and JTG basses so am commenting from experience.
  10. That finish is 👌👌👌
  11. This perloid scratch-plate is also included (this photo is from before I fitted the current black one):
  12. I found things improved when I stopped trying to post constantly and just shared stuff I actually enjoyed making. People responded better and I felt less burnt out.
  13. Just received a twin pack of 4 string EXL170s from Amazon, £22.99 delivered via Prime / Royal Mail. Seem legit, codes etc so looks like a good deal for £11.50 a set.
  14. But then when they see photos of themselves, they demand to know why you didn't tell them...
  15. Good bang for buck, if you like Mayones basses.
  16. Thank you for that compliment! Very much appreciated.
  17. Love it…….a true series of Basschat traits going on here! I love a nice Ricky! Well done.
  18. Absolutely glorious Nick 👍👌🙏
  19. Bought a couple of months ago from BC stalwart @Sibob, this is absurdly cool (hope it's OK to pinch your advert pic, Si?). However, despite being much lighter than your average late 70s P at 8.87 pounds, its unfortunately still not light enough for my damaged back and neck (back story: horse riding accident, 18 cracked ribs front and back in 2023). Carrying it to and from a 2 hour rehearsal last week resulted in significant pain over the next 24 hours and this made the decision for me. So its collect from a public space in Barnes SW13 or delivery at cost. Asking what I paid, £2200, which I think was a fair price. More details and pics in Si's advert below. It's in the same condition and comes with a padded Fender gig bag. https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/514522-1978-precision-olympic-white-maple-lightweight-sold/ Please note: I am away from home for a few days and can only post or meet from Tuesday onwards.
