  1. Past hour
  2. Lovely bass, probably too late at this point, but do Bass Freaks not accept returns? Couple of weeks in on a distance sale, would think sending it back would be the obvious choice?
  3. I bought the amps and cabs as one lot from @la bam of this parish as the basis for building things up - I didn't intentionally go for H & K. They're weighty beasts, but they do sound awesome. And putting the tops on the subs nicely deprives drunken punters of drinks tables 🙂
  4. Of all the things I don’t need but I really want 🤣 My favourite combo! I think these were about £1600 when new? Weigh about 72lb? I could have sworn mine went to 700w at 2Ohm? Lots of question marks, it’s been a while! Fabulous piece of kit. At £200 you could probably never need another bass rig. GLWTS.
  5. I have one of these and it’s one of my favorite basses. I don’t think I’ll ever sell mine. They are very rare to find. Whoever buys, will enjoy it very much. Good luck with the sale.
  6. Happy to help. A couple of points to consider: With four 8ohm drivers, your choices are to wire all in parallel, giving 2 ohms total (probably not good with your amp, which likes to see 4 ohms minimum), all in series, giving 32 ohms total (would certainly not risk blowing the cab', but might be a little quiet), or series/parallel (which is how PJB 4x5 cabs are wired), giving 8ohms total. The TH500 puts out 500W into 4 ohms and around 300W into 8, so I wouldn't worry about blowing up the cab, especially as you say it will only be used for low volume jobs.
  7. Are you available anytime next week? I am very interested in the option with Aguilars and I'm willing to travel&collect at Rochester
  8. And super nice job, you can be proud of yourself for a first.
  9. The easiest way would be to drill a hole from the neck pocket through the neck pickup cavity to the bridge pickup cavity. Fast, easy, clean, invisible, impossible to screw.
  10. 25 O'clock - Dukes of Stratosphere (XTC)
  11. The Caribbean Island? I think it looks lovely, but each to their own...
  12. Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass on Facebook.
  13. I've found that joining an originals project is opening up some real learning for me. Another dep gig has got me learning several new tunes and transposing a few I know which is interesting! Finally, the odd jam or guest spot where you get thrown in at the deep end and have to come up with something with no prep is great ear training.
  14. Great job, looks awesome and it will have a huge Attitude sound😊
  15. Antigua. Edit: Actually, that's not irrational.
  16. In The Midnight Hour - Wilson Pickett
  17. Ive just finished doing up a Squire VM P/J bass which suffered some damage. Have to say its probably the best bass Ive owned and in 3 decades Ive had them all. SD PU, light and resonant with a very good neck. Had a couple of vintage P basses which were dogs in comparison.
  18. 1. Green basses 2. Blue basses, but those basic poster paint blue ones, not Daphne blue, Miami blue, dark night 3. "The Sansamp sound" I just don't get it 4. Not all the best stuff being made in left handed 5. Effects sounding great sometimes but terrible others for no logical reason 6. Really bad looking exotic wood tops like on the new Sire basses 7. Guitarists thinking they can play bass but really they just play root notes with very little expression 8. Coloured bass strings
  19. Too Late Too Late - Motorhead
  20. Free Nelson Mandela - The Special AKA
