Great condition Hellx LT complete with Diago showman pedalboard which does a great job of protecting it. The LT is in full working order and minimal signs of use. Factory reset and up to date firmware. I also have the original box up in the loft if the purchaser wants it! The case is fairly well worn and was used extensively with other pedals before the helix went in it, but it's solid and perfect for the job and has spare space for external pedals, wireless etc Collection from Chelmsford. Only selling as I need to physically downsize to a StompXL or similar (Anagram quad cortex etc) to gain some stage space. Might consider a trade/PX some something smaller!

Hmmm - it's an FX-888D I have; maybe I'll give it another try. I was trying to remove existing solder but it couldn't do it, so I just ended up adding more to it...

Plenty of parallel processing going on in my board but I use a EHX tri mixer as is gives me more flexibility over volumes and phase.

Thanks Luke, your experience sounds similar to mine with the Barts+ Bart pre - mid control just seems to add huge gain ,(not so much when I switch it to 800Hz TBF) I do get some decent tones out of it but am tempted to try the East, especially as she of the pots are on the way out (it's 20yrs old). It'll mean drilling out the holes to 10mm though (and it's a nice bass, Zon Sonus), so just building up the courage!

Didn't they try mixed-magnet pickups a few years back? And people said that they sounded much better if you took them out and rotated them 180 degrees 😆 These sound like the same spec as you get in the American Professional II range and the standard pickups offered in the Mod Shop, especially with the slight overwind. They do sound very good. The design has been around since the American Professional debuted in 2016. I'm surprised about the mention of "increased output". The overwind usually gives a slightly lower overall output, but increased mids. And yes, some people have turned them through 180 degrees, but that's just the 'no treble' crew. They could've done them in a decent colour, though. That shade is utterly heinous.

What??? I thought Sam hadn't posted for a while, and didn't reply to a mention in June, but I hadn't realised she'd passed away. When and where? -

See this thread from a while back: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/212424-battery-powered-bass-amps/ A clean bass amp can also work well for a fiddle, which seems all wrong. I've heard @Mottlefeeder's self built combos and they are great, but maybe more complex than you're looking for.

These look really great, thanks for the tip.

I have a fx888d (70W) - with a big enough tip it certainly can solder to pot cases without any trouble. As can my old 50W Weller TCP - again with a big tip.

AI is not a useful tool where you ask it for granular detail on extremely niche topics. It doesnt know how to say 'Sorry, I'm not sure about that, please can you provide more context to guide me' and will spit out whatever it thinks is right positioning it as being factually correct - which it often isn't! The more detailed your prompt into AI, with as much context as possible, will provide a far better response, but still not one to be blindly trusted! However - I have (albeit briefly) played this bass while collecting another bass from David a year or so ago as it is a lovely thing! 😊
