  2. I think these are Asian made. Defo not USA.
  3. No, it was definitely Brian Harvey, but I can see what you mean.
  4. Yes I have one. I’m in love with it! I’ve never been able to hear myself on stage better with it off to my side leaning back. The DI is great and it’s been flawless. I have everything flat and occasionally use the tilt control but that’s it.
  5. There was jacket potato involved, apparently. I met Brian, Tony and their bodyguard when East 17 were in the first flush of their success. They were what you might describe as robust individuals. It's not an act, they are genuine chavs.
  6. I have the 5 string version of that! awesome colour!
  7. Time marches on - Helloween
  8. Brian Harvey, takes a certain amount of genius to run yourself over.
  9. Cool little phaser pedal from the JHS budget line, was on my board for the last 8 months or so but I just prefer the more simple Phase 90 for my use, the less knobs the less chance of me fiddling during gigs! It can pull off the Phase 90 vibe and also do much more extreme sounds with the feedback knob switched on. Pretty much as new except having Velcro on the bottom, with the original box and bits and pieces. Price includes UK postage, will knock £5 off for local collection
  10. Resistance is futile. Soon you will be assimilated into the abstinence hive.
  11. Honestly … even a guitard would have spotted you as a ringer. Now give us the real @Obrienp back before we mince your tentacles.
  12. Some more photos of this lovely little U-bass, which I can't believe hasn't sold!
  13. What was that bloke’s name from East 17? He managed it.
  14. Three minute hero - The Selecter
  15. Aston SwiftShield portable acoustic isolation screen, ideal for improving recordings in untreated rooms. Great for vocals, voiceover work, podcasts, or acoustic instruments. Foldable, lightweight, and very easy to position on a mic stand. Helps reduce room reflections and background noise, giving you a tighter, more controlled sound when recording at home. Brand new in box £30 Postage at cost (around £10 UK) Collection available in / around Edinburgh.
  16. No box or manual. Some cosmetic wear as expected for a used pedal, but it functions exactly as it should. £50 Postage: ~£10 UK at cost Collection available in / around Edinburgh.
  17. Saw someone using one of these last night - absolutely lovely amp. Our @ped has one also, no?
  18. I've not had to deal with double-action rods before, but with a single-action with bullet adjustment, I've found clamping the neck up to a slight backbow useful. That way the clamps take up the tension and the nut moves easily to take up the slack. Would that work here?
  19. Musicman Sterling 4H Bass USA & Original Case Lovely example of the earlier Sterling model (not to be confused with the Sterling imports from the East) I picked up in a trade on here this year. Made in the US in 2000 it has a recessed neck plate, three band EQ and slimmer body and neck. This is a rarer version with a black sparkle finish and matching headstock. It comes with original pearloid scratch-plate and a plain black laminated one. It weighs 3.9kgs so a nice lightweight example of this bass. Lovely balance and set up. It’s very easy to play and currently strung with D’Addario 40-100 nickel roundwounds. No issues other than a couple of hard to see dings. Great bass, only selling as it is rarely used since I prefer maple boards. Pickup preferred but I can post in the UK at buyer’s cost. No trades.
  20. It is fitting that those who have remained Abstinent for 50 weeks, should now find themselves battling at Boss Level. For those of us who were defeated in Round 1 by Mario's banana skin, I give you @Bass Direct, the Bowser of Bass Temptation...

  24. For me, with guitars/basses, it’s more about era when referring to something being ‘vintage’, rather than a dictionary definition. With Fender, it’s pre-CBS (up to end of ‘64), Musicman it’s pre-EB, Rickenbacker, it’s full width inlays etc. I had some ‘82 Fender basses, and while they are 43 years old, I would never call them vintage (despite the definition), they were sold as vintage reissues at the time, and I still consider them that. Maybe it’s an age thing (of me, not the instruments?!) 😜
  25. This is not intended to be one of those passive-aggressive posts aimed at taking down a perfectly good sale, but I am genuinely perplexed as to why a head with a one-valve preamp comes in at nearly two stone in weight. Is it just because it's built like a tank for the long haul? Or am I missing something obvious? (Probably the latter, but this is a genuine request.) Whatever the answer, good luck with your sale.
  26. Hi all Anyone have any experience with either of these two cabs and give me an idea of what they sound like? I err on the vintage/warm side of things and will be pairing with a TH500. Specs seem very similar and cost is close and they will probably sound similar too. EBS has some extra features (built in castors) and comes with a cover. I should play them really but none close to me to have a go with. Cheers
