  2. If you change your mind about selling I would be interested. I’m not far from you either.
  3. Thanks! Be great to get a steer from any folk who have ordered one more recently. I need to pop into Bass Gallery at some point to get some work done on my Spector, so I can maybe also catch up with one of the two gents then.
  4. Hi all, I'm selling this Hipshot HE6C-3/8 Ultralite D-Tuner X-Tender 3/8 Bass - Black (20680B). I bought this for a parts project but it never got used. Good condition, minor scuffs around the peg and nut. Mouting screw included. £60 Price includes UK postage
  5. Hi all, I'm probably going to regret this, but after 6 months of consistently choosing other basses with wooden necks, I've resigned to the fact that I should probably move this on to fund other musical endevours. This is the jazz bass version with 20 frets and the default fingerboard radius. This build quality on these are amazing, they feel amazing to play and the fretwork is great. The neck is in great condition, there are a few minor scuffs around the neck pocket from where it was installed (see pics). The neck holes were drilled and tapped by a professional luthier, and fit the standard 4 hole Fender pattern (I've had this on two jazz basses with no issues). More information can be found here: https://klosguitars.com/products/carbon-fiber-bass-neck I've installed hipshot ultralite tuners as I prefer the look of the clover peg heads, this also saves some weight over the stock Klos tuners (around 10g per tuner). I can include the original tuners if you wish. Comes with the original installation tools/screws, and a spare set of slightly longer neck screws that I bought as I was worried about the supplied ones not giving enough thread engagement in the neck - this turned out not to be a problem on the two jazz basses it's been installed on. I'm unsure on pricing on this, but I'm looking for £550 + postage Let me know if you have any questions! For those that are curious, this review best matches my experience with this neck:

  6. ^This entirely. Not many of those out there and they sound great.
  7. Price Drop - £230 or £250 delivered sound fair?
  8. This crossed my mind, Mick. You can't beat a clean fretboard.
  9. Indeed. I confess I was being a smartar5e on this occasion. Your post was very helpful, for which thank you.
  10. I see your point, but while I'm far from an expert in such things, I doubt anything in that price bracket is built in the US using parts built in the US. So "cheap but decent" just won't be a thing for US consumers any more. Will those of us in Europe face rising costs from Harley Benton to make up for the hole in their finances from losing US trade...? Who knows. I don't think anybody wins in this, sadly.
  11. While the EU will very likely impose retaliatory tariffs on the US I can't see the UK doing the same. It's not a game we can win.
  12. Agreed Mick, Whilst the SMX series added some useful bells and whistles such as compression and a blendable valve/solid state preamp, the Series 6 has a certain immediate clarity with clout never bettered by Trace Elliot.
  13. I wonder how much more expensive US brands will become in UK?
  14. Yep, 'twas my Markbass TA503, that I still own. Thanks for the kind words mate.
  15. Look up Milehouse Studios on YouTube, but if you are easily offended probably best you don’t 😂
  16. Today
  17. Nowhere as a band, to be honest. But Eg has had a pretty stellar career since then, as artist/writer/producer. The reason I know this is that I was in a band at the time and we knew Yip Yip Coyote, went to the same gigs, clubs etc.. Plus, they were big BowWowWow fans, like my band were, so we shared common musical influences, tastes etc. I nearly bought an Odyssey bass myself back in the mid 90s (that was being advertised on Loot) , told myself I couldn't afford it, and then regretted it for months afterwards.. What a fool I was! 🤦😁
  18. Dream with your head, not over it.
  19. It's well built, reliable, easy to use and fix. Soundwise, it's totally different from their solid state products and to me more pleasant to the ears, without that permanent compression, which is the typical sound signature of Trace Elliot amps. These V-Type series items often retail for peanuts, but are worth every penny, should you like tube/valve based preamps.
  20. Mutter...mutter.... 5 string... mutter.
  21. Absolutely lovely, and the replacement fingerboard looks superb. I'd be all over this if I hadn't recently bought a(nother) new bass.
  22. Quite right in absolute terms. 👍 I was referring to relative pitch. The amount of pitch change from string on fret, with no sideways bend, to on fret, with sideways bend. 😊
  23. Could be. I know when DeCola left Peavey to work for Fender he was told elements from his Palaedium neck had been used for the Geddy Lee bass.
  24. And again - Wow!!
