Is anyone else have ground noise issues using the supplied psu? I only noticed it tonight. The past few days I've had my helix plugged into the same power strip which must have grounded it. I was using my mooer psu for the anagram for a couple of days, then tried the supplied DG one. It's only when playing tonight since packing away the helix yesterday that I noticed so much noise.

DF Shortscale started following Cultural appropriation and covers

Got a gig coming up and I’ve been asked to play a cover of Zombie by Fela Kuti which someone threw into a vaguely afrobeat-inspired playlist, and given the historical context of the song, and the fact that this band is a bunch of white guys with zero genuine connection to African culture, I feel like it’s not a good idea. I don’t think whoever came up with the playlist knows the context of the song, they just thought it would be a nice tune to jam on. I’m gonna say no to the gig (and the whole thing reminds me of that Alan Partridge scene where he talks about ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’ and washing his car). But I’m curious if anyone else has come up against stuff like this - cultural appropriation and being uncomfortable playing covers of tunes that have historical / political significance. Doesn’t sit right with me at all. I feel similar about some other tunes too, What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye etc. Am I over thinking this? Where do you draw the line with stuff like this?

BloozeBoy started following Quality BASSIST urgently needed by top Chicago Blues band
-
THE SONS OF ILLINOIS operate out of Chelmsford, Essex. We play exciting, crowd-pleasing Chicago Blues and we very urgently need a bass player. You'll be a Fender P user and must be reliable, committed and have good availability. If you can also play upright bass it will be an advantage, but it's certainly NOT essential. Audition/rehearsals on a Sunday early evening in the CM1 postcode area. We have a good book of really decent gigs (including festivals) for 2026. We have a strong social media presence, with more than 2,000 followers on Facebook and a YouTube channel too. Band line-up is: Vocals/Harmonica Lead/Slide Guitar Lead/Rhythm Guitar Bass - the vacant position Drums/Percussion Please call Mark on 07885 858158 immediately if you're up for this!

It suddenly dawned on me that 2 members of the group appeared in the Breaking Bad spinoff 'Better Call Saul,.. Ed Bagley Jr and Michael McKean.

kiat started following Pedalboards quick configuration changes : patch panels?
-
Problem: I've got devices on my Pedalboard that I'd like to use in different configurations when gigging, when rehearsing and when practising solo. Everything is on my board: bass wireless receiver, tuner, multi effect, IEM transmitter, DI, headphone amp/mixer and battery. Solutions?? : my tech background prompts me to solve this with a patch panel (all audio inputs and inputs from every device would have their own port in a single patch panel. Then compact patch cables would connect these ports in any combo you want, easily changeable and no more removing of devices to change over their cables. It might be a faff, it might be impractical, unless there are micro connectors. Has anyone done this, or even just attempted it or thought it through?

Lush. I have an Uberhorn and an Uberhorn body Jon made to fit a neck Goodfellow made for me. I heart Uberhorns.

That bass looks serious! Hopefully we will hear some playing after you have changed strings. That number of strings, it may be wise to change one at a time and not stress the neck too much.

I use rounds... because I've always used them since about 1987! Roto 66, or occasionally Elites.

All done... Requesting extra veggie food and crumble... the vash counts as what my daughter calls a 'cheat day' where I can eat as much as I want!

OMG! My drummer has never seen the first one! I'm going to have to lie down in a darkened room until I come to terms with that revelation Edit: I've offered him the loan of my special edition BluRay

There was a famous Dutch 'psychedelic' group in the '70ies called Supersister. Bassist (already dead) Ron van Eck used to have one too. If it is used on recordings I don't know. It's worth listening to their music. Look at the super heavy duty Fender bass amp in the background.

Just noticed thats the original EMG preamp encapsulated module. Very nice indeed and far better sounding than the MEC preamp from later models. The sticker label on the bridge pick up looks like it says a Stage 1 Streamer pick up. I believe the streamer and Thumb basses had the same pick ups. Mine is the 89 model with EMG's but doesn't have the sticker label. WOW someone really needs to buy this as its one heck off a bass to play with one of the best necks i've ever played. Dave
