  2. I was wondering if anyone who owns a StroboStomp HD could please do a little experiment for me before I buy one While the pedal is powered from the battery only, could you please plug a cable into the tuner input and tell me: - Does the pedal boot into the tuner/muted state? - Is there any pop or noise from the output when doing this? I found a reference to the 'Power Up Mute State' in their firmware documentation, so it's my impression that its possible to power on the pedal while on battery power without any nasty output pops. Thanks!
  3. I have an old set of LaBella short flats currently on my starcaster bass where the windings on the A string feel bumpy where the other strings are smooth — I think all string manufacturers can have the occasional QC issue.
  4. For sale, this classic tuner by TC Electronic. Works well, got Velcro on the back. Shipping across the UK or collection in Edinburgh. thank you!
  5. For sale, this fantastic pedal by Origin Effects; the DCX Bass. Works as an EQ/Preamp or a drive, depending on the settings, and does a great job at both. It truly is an outstanding pedal but it doesn’t fit my current sonic needs. Happy to ship in the UK for a fiver, or collection in Edinburgh. Thank you!
  6. Price drop!
  7. For sale, this Ashdown Bass Gig Bag, in very good condition. Big front pockets, thick padding and Velcro to hold the neck. I’m happy to ship in the UK for a fiver, or collection in Edinburgh. thank you!
  8. Lovely - bit of Harmony / Ric vibe going on there......
  9. Attended the Classic Rock Show midweek, a great mix of songs, sung and played to a very high standard by a bunch of very gifted musicians, the bass player (Wayne Banks) was very energetic on stage, played extremely well and had a huge presence in the overall mix.
  10. Now price can be negotiable! 😀

  12. FWIW, Jake Serek uses DR Hi-Beams as the rounds option on his short-scale basses (and you can see on some videos). When I owned a "The Grand" it came as stock with these. I'm generally not a fan of stainless steel (as opposed to nickel) but they did suit the bass
  13. Mr brightside - Killers
  14. A Golden Oldie. This version is actually a medley, combining the original Four Seasons hit with a new section called "Forgive Me, Girl". The Spinners - Working My Way Back to You
  15. I’ve been leaning towards short scale hollow basses for the last couple of years. They carry a nice woody thump that I love. Especially with a tube preamp. Gorgeous bass. I love that.
  16. Our glorious leader @ped has kindly sent me a stack of BC lanyards and strap locks for this and the Midlands Bash so we'll be bona fide!

  18. I used the critical mass with the sax and it sounded great
  19. Yep, like a Delrin type of plastic
  20. I was exploring the possibility of getting a narrower post to fit to one of the other models, but they didn't have any of those either. Which model are you looking at?
  21. I had an RM500 for a long time and loved it. I only went for an ABM600 because I got an offer I couldn't refuse. I loved the RM500 for its ease of use, being able to bypass the EQ when using a modelling pedal, and it just generally being small and light enough to transport easily in a laptop bag. If there was one criticism from me it would be that the onboard drive and compressor are things I'd not use much at all but I still had a few gigs going straight into the amp and using the onboard effects with no issue.
  22. Actually, I've just found some more detail on the module, it is a Powersoft product called PowerMod II. Thermal protection shuts the unit off at 85C. It will work fine with the heatsink according to Powersoft up to an ambient temp of 45C. The temp sensor is apparently underneath the main board attached to the heatsink. No schematic available unfortunately. These were originally designed back in 2002 and have been obsolete for some years. You might find a manual online if you search PowerMod II .
  23. Keep up, Jack! 😂
  24. A quick look through the BC market place, and this jumps out. Light weight, loud, and reasonable price
  25. OK, I have to admit that using one of these pedals with a trumpet was just not on my radar.
