  1. Past hour
  2. My life as a bass player would have turned out very differently if I could sing.
  3. Yes, it's scaled down so all in proportion.
  4. Highway to Hell - AC/DC
  5. Road To Nowhere - Talking Heads
  6. The problem I have is im the new guy. The others think it's all wonderful and have no idea how basic it all sounds (drummer never counts in, the guiraitst just starts etc). If the end ends up in chaos that's just more time wasted. The song in question is Cheap Tricks' Aint that a shame. It has a lot of false endings where there are different bits of guitar during each gap. I dont think we need play them all, or at least go on and on, so I suggested we settle on a number so we can all stop. He thinks we stop when he plays a certain riff, no matter what anyone else is doing at the time. I could let it go, and won't bother bringing it back up next time, but for me his card is marked and my eyes are open to his attitude.
  7. The Long And Winding Road - Beatles
  8. Be interested to know the cost. I’d happily get my flea jazz refin’d to charcoal frost following those new RW basses. Might be cheaper to do that than buy the p bass!!
  9. In which case, everyone else can count and he can be the one standing out as getting the ending wrong!
  10. Just had a thought, I was thinking right handed, perhaps it’s right with a lefty
  11. So I bought this as a natural and passive. It's now running the brilliant Aguiler OBP-1, and has been refinished in lime white wax and shellac. It's good, not perfect. Humbucker is Cat's Whiskers (UK and handwound). About 8lbs, plays brilliantly. Any questions, just ask.
  12. I bought an HW guitar. It was very lovely.
  13. Exactly this! I played with the same main band for 15 years, and people would often assume I wasn’t available for deps, even though I often was! Since leaving this band ( and supposedly semi retiring! ) I’ve done a fair few dep gigs, so people are realising I’m around more and give me a call. Mainly pub / function bands, who rarely have parts available so I’m winging it most of the time. I’m amazed how many bands don’t have chord charts / guide parts for any possible dep situations though. It really helps if you can offer backing vocals too, however limited.
  14. Having read Entwistle's autobiography, I think Daltrey was lucky he was such a good singer.
  15. Is this the model with the reduced body and headstock size?
  16. Wow, what a beast. I tried one when they first came out and loved it but being such a shorty it totally swamped me so I ended up playing a Steinberger 😂 GLWTS
  17. Great strings for reggae, Motown or any old school style. Distinctive purple silks, unused in original package. I also have a hardly used matching 5th string - 126 gauge available for an additional £5.00 if required.

  18. This is a very good quality plate, made by Fatboy Guitars Ltd. in Newport England, probably about 20 years ago. I have had it in a drawer for years and never even removed the plastic film so it is in new unmarked condition. The colour is a very pale mint green to my eyes which is not captured in the photos. Price includes UK postage.
  19. Yes! Worth the risk IMO at that price.
  20. Thanks. Yes, he just thinks he is right because he knows it all. He really doesnt. Keeps going on about IEM's etc, and as I said, we are in a living room with 25-30wats amps. Absolutely no need for IEM's, but as he knows the pro's use them, he is going to. Definitely not a team player. To be honest I dont think the band will go anywhere anyway. Singer/Guitarist has a Boss 30watt busking amp, and the lead has the small 25watt. They both think we can mic them up at gigs 😂 They have done a lot of open mic nights over the years, but never a covers gig where the band pretty much supplies everything. I just enjoy the songs and playing with them. Im not going to stress about it and happy to walk away at any point, but im trying to bring a bit of experience to the band.
  21. This great offer keeps coming back - availed myself of it a few weeks back. Don't be put off by the vague delivery times when you place the order - I don't know if they wait until enough orders come in to be able to buy it at the price they need, but in my experience, it starts off being months away and ends up winging your way in a couple of weeks.
  22. Seconded. I've had very good experiences with both the matched M5 and X2 Rode M3's. I've since moved on from the M5's but the Rode M3's are used for lots of stuff. Both have low self noise and sound much better than hey should for the price.
  23. I can happily recommend the ABM 600 and Barefaced Two10S combination
  24. Oooo that's much nicer than the stock colours IMO!
  25. This is painfully accurate :') They like to present themselves as innovative, when all their innovations date back to the 1980s or earlier and they haven't kept on innovating since- unless you count scrapping Leo's fairly unique Bi-cut neck with single-action truss rod in 2006, and replacing it with a more conventional double-action truss rod routed below the fingerboard, as on most modern guitars, and switching to a whopping FOUR neck bolts instead of three, and six on some basses. I love G&L, one of my guitars dearest to me is an American ASAT Special (one of the earliest with 4-bolt neck, but still with the bi-cut neck) and I've owned a few others in the past (another ASAT Special, a Legacy Special and an SB-2, all 3-bolts) and all of them were wonderful. I would hate to see the brand disappear.
  26. Looking to have my white one repainted to this and have a mint guard so I did a quick mockup. Been a fan of Daphne blue since getting an AVII 60s Precision, but sold it to fund for a nice sounding P with great low B which is the SP1. But yeah just looking to personalise mine. Have been using this for many gigs now and been pretty happy with this thing. Still looking for someone who can nail this. I've only inquired so far with Chris from Bow Finishing(closest one to me as I'm based in SW London) and TDog customs and just waiting for their replies. {retty excited about this project!
