Mismatched top, would this bother you? Cort space 4

You would have thought so, I mentioned the neck was rough in addition to the cosmetic issue, but they’ve ignored that. I’ll continue the battle tomorrow -

Really sad news I honestly hope Hofner can be saved. Bought my 500/1 37 years ago & it's been my favorite bass ever since. Maybe someone like Warwick could buy them & keep them in Germany, good luck to all the Hofner employees.

Bought these recently here and they’re great but I decided to go with my preferred choice on a bass I’ve modded. In my trial with them I found them to be quiet and even with low output as described. My East UK has gain adjustment so that didn’t pose a problem. I thought they were vintage voiced (60’s) but even slap style sounded pleasant. I preferred the more hi-fi sound of the EMG for the stuff I’m doing (plus I have more vintage styled instruments available). I also did the series/parallel switching with them and that was great (versatile option). The original post: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/518269-celinder-ss-humbucker-alnico-jazz-pickups-sold/#comment-5561431 I have epoxied the tabs so they’re much better and poses no problems to mount the pickups. I’m asking what I paid for them and this includes UK shipping.

2018 Status-Graphite S2-Classic "Black Beauty" Unique Custom Order in metallic black (yep, you guessed it!) with faux vintage white binding and red wrap-around LEDs.) You may remember that the Status 'Black Beauty' editions were all KingBasses, launched after Mark King's gorgeous black KingBass debuted - Well, this one was a unique Custom Order with the same scheme, as well as Mark King's signature 16.5mm string spacing. This bass, [which was ordered by an owner who also ordered a Black Beauty KingBass at the same time] is as a result, seriously fast to play and sounds utterly amazing. It has that Graphite 'Shimmer' In spades! It has been set up on fresh 30-90 gauge DBE Strings for the full Mark King effect. Uniquely, it doesn't have the usual Board 30(X) Mid Cut/Flat/Boost selector switch. Instead, there's an extra rotary control for Mid Frequency, giving the player even more tonal variations than the standard S2-Classic. There is one very tiny defect in the finish, to the right of the battery covers on the back, but not a chip or gouge. You might spot a small white dot in the pictures. That's it! Otherwise, there are a couple of very small scratches on the lower 'bout, but too small to be picked up by an iPhone camera. All in all, this Bass is in lovely condition for an eight year old Status. Potential buyers are welcome to come and try the bass by appointment. The bass is currently located in Derbyshire, ten mins from M1 J25. Happy to deliver, or meet you half way up to 140 miles from DE7. Trades welcome towards the cost of this unique instrument.

I had a pair of these Delano’s made for a new bass with both the same width as the bridge pickup. They also have raised pole pieces under the A and D strings for cambered string placement. They are used, maybe 10/12 gigs but as new. I’ve decided to go back to the HE model that I’ve used for many years on my other basses. The price includes standard U.K. postage..

Not as yet, this is a question often asked by new users when migrating from analogue desks, the general opinion is that a pad is not needed. Incidentally, the auto gain is useful to get you in the ballpark. Once it is set, turn it off and do slight adjustments manually. Also be careful with the automatic feedback circuits, The live mode can be a bit aggressive, so use it to set fixed frequencies but leave live mode alone. Both these were lessons from personal experience.

Thanks all. Back to a stable internet connection so I'll update the playlist. If people can post Spotify links rather than YT that makes life waaaaaay easier, as I don't have to find the same song on Spotify, compare it to YT etc etc. 🎅

You have a couple of options with that desk. I’m assuming you have a mono monitor mix coming from one of the aux outs. Once you’ve set your individual mix via the app, you can also adjust the eq of your overall mix to your taste which can take out some of the boom. I’d also check you’re getting a pre rather than post fade/eq mix too. Unfortunately you can’t adjust the eq of individual channels of your aux mix but you could use a P16M rather than a P2, fed from the ultranet of the X18. That’ll give you stereo in ears and a fully controllable mix via the P16M which is like a small stereo mixer, just for your monitors.

Oh for a second I thought this was the extension cab and was about to immediately pounce. i have one of these and it’s an amazing amp. It’s very loud: Volume at 3 to compete with a drum kit and two fender twins, it sounds lovely and round, but has more shaping than I’ve ever had cause to use. They also never come up for sale.- 1 reply

I got the gigs through a mate I'd played with in the past. One was a band he had also depped with, and he recommended me. The other was with his current band. Initially they weren't based on my reputation or my visibility as most of my gigs with my main band over the last few years have been private functions. It's all about contacts.

Oh, that sucks 😖. However, the bass looks great and Lee Sklar would hugely approve of your ‘flipping the bird’ with dislocated digits.
