  3. … spend a boat load of money!! You could use a pedal switcher type pedal like. Gigrig G3S, then have all your preferred individual effects (after you’ve bought loads finding those gems you prefer), use expensive patch cables for the switcher system (or at least way more than you’d anticipate), power it all with a nice isolated PSU, but you’ll most likely need at least 2 of them (lots of pedals = lots of power!), then you’ll have to see if the pedals play nicely together, and if they do then you’re onto a winner. If you’re pedals are fancy they may take Midi control, but that’s not something I know about to comment. Or buy a modern multi fx and be done with all the above 😆. However I don’t have a G3S, but have enough of everything else mentioned in the first paragraph lol!! Currently I’m favouring small (ie Pedal Train Nano sized boards) but that could all change in the future! Don’t think I’ve really answered the OP but had a brain dump instead 🤣
  4. Hi Ash, looking at the manufacturing date of 2009, this will be a Class AB power amp version of the Combo Head 2 (unless it has already been repaired at some stage?), which is actually identical to the first Little Mark 3 heads (not a LM2). This combo will also almost certainly contain an Italian made cast frame B&C driver. The AB power amp with B&C driver makes this my favourite version of this combo. GLWYS.
  5. £20 here will sort you out: You'll need a headphone splitter (and a stereo to mono 6.35mm-3.5mm adapter if you don't already have one), if you have some sort of headphone amp (the P2 clones off AliExpress are good) then you could probably use the main out to get a seperate mix if you don't want the same levels, again with a few more adapters. In fact you could probably just pan everything over to one side and use a regular mono 6.35mm-3.5mm adapter.
  6. My dad saw this at the car boot yesterday and rang me to see if I wanted it. Unfortunately he couldn't work out how to take a photo or send it to me 😄 Apparently the guy selling said it belongs to his son who plays guitar all over the world, and the bass had been in his attic for 25 years. There's no serial numbers on it. I said it sounds like it's just been nicked off someone in Rhyl so I passed!
  7. I've just put my bass down after a play through of Keep On Running. IMHO it's a great piece of music with a driving bassline featuring good syncopation and memorable riffs. Despite few 'blue' notes it manages to convey a great sense of movement. Other great examples: Heard it on the Grapevine, Sunny Afternoon, Jean Genie... but even some superficially simple songs contain subtle little details. It's not Beethoven, but it's way more complex than most modern 'pop' music. When waiting to go on, I often quietly play along to the DJ/Jukebox and you can crack many modern songs =very quickly. Why have the basslines of popular music become so basic (excuse the pun)? Is it just that old-school bass players had a bit more theory knowledge? Or just that modern music is so dance oriented the bass has just become an extension of the kick drum?

  9. My current combo is the Fender Rumble 800, chosen for weight and power. If Ashdown did a similar product I would have gone with them as although the Rumbles sound great I do prefer the Ashdown sound. But they don’t, and weight for me is a big factor, a 13kg 800w 210 great sounding combo fits my needs well.
  10. Think there was someone after a CV60 P neck a while ago due to a truss rod issue, check the Repairs section of the forum.
  11. Had an absolutely amazing gig last Wednesday playing in Guildford at part of the very busy GT Session weekly gigs. We were headlining out of 4 acts with a 30 minute slot. We weren't quite sure what type of set to play as each act was different and we originally decided to play a more uplifting choice of songs. The act before us was very chilled and laid back so we mixed it up and played some chilled songs and a few upbeat songs to lift the vibe and pick the listeners up. I can say we played an absolute blinder and went down a storm. I play fretless and the sound was incredible, so I decided to have a bit of fun by really bringing out the fretless tone, emphasising the slides and the use of my chorus and octave pedal, so much so that our singer gave me a nod and gesture to take a bit of a lead bass part as it was just sounding so good. After the gig, another bassist came up to me and said I saw you were playing so I had to come down and listen as you are my favourite fretless bass player and you sounded incredible 😲 Another bassist came up to me and was fascinated by the pedals I was using and what strings I was used and a few other people came up after and complimented me. Absolutely awesome gig and makes it all worthwhile.
  12. These are probably done digitally with a synth, but it feels like a synth emulating a Bass Guitar: ... I guess they are aiming for a Bernard Edwards Stingray sort of thing. What do you reckon, Stingray to get closest to this sort of sound?
  13. I tried a 5 string fretless at bass gallery a while back, good curr for rosecoe beck gas!
  14. I'm spending much of today polishing a 34-song list for a rehearsal tonight with a band I've just joined, I know a fistful already but most are new, although I am familiar with them as songs which makes getting the structure easier. But... just found myself learning the Immigrant Song, which is NOT on the list so slapped wrist and back to the grindstone.
  15. Saw Nine Inch Nails in Dublin last night. Really impressive show in every way, which we have come to expect from Trent Reznor. I particularly appreciated the fact that there was a band media blackout from January when the tour was announced. It felt like pre-internet days and there was a real sense of anticipation. I only took a few photos, preferring to enjoy the show. There are dozens of videos and reviews up now, so there are spoilers, but for anyone going to Manchester or London, you are in a for a treat.
  16. I assumed they were referencing the previous posters... from 8 years ago...
  17. GarLick it Up - Kiss
  18. Onion of the Snake - Duran Duran
  19. Bump for a pretty bass. GLWTS
  20. Thanks Mark, certainly is a whole lot of amp for the money. Flexible eq and enough power for most of the gigs anyone's likely to play.
  21. Selling this CV 60s Precision neck as I'm having a bit of a clear out and it's just sitting around. Has a 41mm nut - Truss rod and tuners are working fine, it's from a 2021 model I think so has a laurel fingerboard and I've given it a coat of lemon oil. The profile is really nice and playable, having a decent amount of wood in the hand but slim enough to make getting around the neck a breeze. Has very minimal fret wear and I've given them a polish with some 0000 wire wool. Looking for £90 posted for this I upgraded one of my basses with a Gotoh recently and have this hi-mass bridge spare. Standard 5 screw install and this one has 4 holes for string through body as an option. Looking for a tenner posted. I also have 2 sets of pretty much brand new Rotosound RS66LD Swing Bass strings. I fitted these to my basses a couple of weeks ago but just could not get on with the feel/tension so I've gone back to my trusted EB Slinky's. They're both cut for a Precision/Jazz and have seen about an hour max of use on each set. Looking for £25 posted for the pair or £13.50 posted for a set. Any questions please let me know.
  22. Having a bit of a streamline of my pedalboard and looking to let these beauties find a new home. Sansamp Programmable Bass Driver DI You know the deal, industry standard preamp/DI functionality - this one has 3 switchable channels allowing you to vary your tone/drive as required. A great pedal that's been a key part of my board but no longer required due to my GK 700RB amp. Excellent condition comes with the box. SOLD MXR M85 Bass Distortion A flexible bass distortion based on the famous RAT circuit this one has both the original RAT and Turbo RAT circuits switchable via a push button. Sounds great and in excellent condition apart from a few small chips in the paint. SOLD Seymour Duncan Studio Bass Compressor Really versatile workhorse compressor that gets great reviews on sites like Ovnilabs - https://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/vicegrip.shtml. A few battle scars to the paintwork but apart from that it's in great nick. Looking for £110 posted EHX Bass Clone Chorus Bought this last year looking for a Peter Hook kind of sound as it's a modern version of the original EHX Clone Theory. Hardly ever used, comes with the box. SOLD Behringer BDI21 Bass Driver DI Cheap clone of the famous Sansamp Bass Driver DI, does a fantastic job considering the price differences. Looking for £15 posted
