  2. Any recommendations for a relatively inexpensive but lightweight cabinet to use with my Ashdown EVO500? I’ve been using 2 x Hartke 4.5XLs for 25 years now, but they are backbreakingly heavy to lug around now I’m an old biddy. I’d honestly settle for one lightweight cabinet with fewer speakers and the ability to deal with my amp sufficiently now. Bestow your expertise upon me please, fellow Basschatters….
  3. The real questions should be: "Are you getting gigs for weddings where the couple are saying 'We saw you at X's wedding'?". "Are people dancing to your music and having a good time?" Usually after the buffet, but extra points for people staying on the dance floor after the first dance.. If you are, then don't worry about it. We are our own worst critics.
  4. Hi I’ve just bought a Line 6 M9. Anyone else still using the M series?

  6. Ohw! Thanks for that; I had no idea. Ordered! Been a fan for 50 years and seven months. 😀
  7. I’m doing another run of my Jack Tailpiece Clip. It provides a neat and firm fixing for the pickup jack under the tailpiece as shown in the photo. It comes in two sizes, 12mm dia for the chrome jacks and a slightly larger dia for the Gage black jacks. Definitely an improvement on the string afterlength fixings. I’m also now doing a twin clip to tidy up the cables running from twin pickups or pickup and mic. Single clip £10, or £16 for two. Twin clip £14. Postage included.

  8. When The Lavvy Breaks - LZ
  9. That's interesting...I thought it was just me. I went from Schaller locks on all basses to just the normal buttons and rubber washers on everything and they all felt more comfortable on the strap. You wouldn't think it would make much difference would you? It seemed to change the pressure points over my shoulder and tuck the bass back into me a bit. That's on all 3 - a Spector Pulse 2, a Warwick Proline and a Zon Sonus

  12. I have the Octopus album and liked it but didn't love it. May give it another go....
  13. Fantastic bass pedal that covers you from overdrive to distortion and fuzz - gated as well. Just not playing in bands so I'm moving some gear - fantastic condition, #006 ☺️
  14. You don't need to spend money on premade shims. There is no practical advantage to buying them. If you have a cereal box or any similar cardboard you can make dozens of shims with absolutely no negative effects.

  17. Not convinced I like the music, but I love it that this thread exists 👍

  20. In more ways than one. After a dubious start due to that preamp, Peacock has now moved into the top slot and is an instant favourite.
  21. Thread from the dead! Playing the Fool has just been reissued. Completely remixed from the ground up, with all the missing songs. I got the 2xCD / 5.1 Blu Ray version, and it's ridiculously good. Gawd bless Ray Shulman. What a player.
  22. I bought a lovely Sterling bass from Ander. Great bass, service and communication. Many thanks!
  23. A ledgend!
  24. Heads up for anyone looking for a mini EQ pedal, Rowin is absolute cr@p, noisy as hell, cheap but not even worth the £25

  25. eBay aren't interested in dealing with counterfeits, so paying extra for some buyer protection scheme is a nonsense. The idea of automated positive feedback is quite bizarre. As a buyer, I don't trust them.
