  2. If it helps, Andertons sell boxes for posting and it comes with packaging as well
  3. They should be more like this
  4. I’m so weak 😂
  5. I can't see my Goliath Jr III cabs going anywhere - their sound is still so good. They had a good but busy life before they came to me but I'm at least ten years in with them now and have found little else that keeps up tonally. My modded Ashdown 2x10 is very good (fitted with Celestion Pulse - myself and Phil Starr had extensive communication over their suitability plus I took it upon myself to remove the resistor in HF circuit) and is now notably closer to the SWR cabs than the original spec. Proper job! 🥰
  6. It frustrates the hell out of me, Brits using Imperial measurements. I am 74, I grew up with the Imperial system but when I started in Engineering in the late 60s, I had to change to the SI system. Imperial disappeared for the public 50 odd years ago. Get over it. You would not want to buy something fitted with UNC or UNF threads on the screws, why live your life in the past? Now I have to decide whether to take my 34" or 30" bass to rehearsal.🤣

  10. Thanks, Mokl. I was running two as a vertical stack – best live sound I've ever had!
  11. The DM610 is a large bookshelf/standmount speaker from renowned hi-fi brand B&W, featuring a well-braced 30-litre sealed cabinet with 8-inch mid-bass driver. The larger driver and extra cabinet space create a much better low end range than from most similar speakers. This model allows for either bi-wiring or bi-amplification. These speakers present clean tight bass response, surprisingly clear mids for such a large driver and the pleasant highs that the well-designed B&W tweeter at that time was famous for. They can be driven quite loud, enough for the physical effect of the bass to be felt without audible distortion or a sense of sound compression. Both speakers are in Very Good condition, especially for their vintage. All-original, complete with full grilles (one of which has a small hole, shown in the final photo). Only £125. Collection from Bournemouth BH6 preferred. Here comes the science bit… Type: 2-way closed, shelf speaker Colour: Ash black veneer Dimensions: 490 x 236 x 303 mm (H x W x D) Weight: 7.8 kg Recommended amplifier power: 30-150 W Frequency response: 70 - 20,000 Hz (±2 dB) Crossover: 2500 Impedance: 4 Ohm
  12. Yes it has phantom on the XLR (mic) input and yes you can combine both channels (there’s an A + B switch on the side between the two jack inputs). I must admit I’ve never used that option as I’ve always used mine on doubling gigs with EUB and electric fretless, or more recently with upright but I only have a Realist Copperhead on my upright and no mic. They really are a great bit of kit. My only complaints are the post clip light is a bit sensitive, and the selector for tuner always on is inside the case requiring a screwdriver session to change to on mute only. Other than that, they are built like a tank and do exactly what they say on the tin.
  13. @walshycombined postage!
  14. Just did a very nice deal with @petecarlton Who I can't speak highly enough about.. ... Great comms, easy to deal with and all round top Basschatter, so deal with in complete confidence, Folks! 👌😊 Thanks again Pete and I hope you enjoy the Eden head. Nik
  15. It seems that to do what I want to do ,I’d need a DI box . I’m just wondering if my zoom B3 is a DI box of sorts 🤔 There always a sandamp ,but that may be expensive overkill ..
  16. Sadly not. There's at least a coach-load of us with older 4-string Spectors looking for these (in gold). Putting a GB7 on is about as close as you're going to get. I've got 2 of mine with "odd" Xtenders and no one, including me ever notices. I'd rather have a slightly odd one than not have one.
  17. I use GarageBand on my iPad at home and if we decide to proceed we dump the project into logic to record full drums etc. Its just a lot easier to use - the capabilities of logic far exceed that of GarageBand in terms of plug ins etc. but for any demoing etc - GarageBand is ace, really good for getting ideas down. Ive done some really good little projects on it and it’s really amazing that’s its free
  18. I have a problem and it looks like this piece of kit may present a solution. I have long been using an Acoustic Image Clarus using both a pick up AND a microphone for my double bass. My amp is looking like it may be on its way out and, as we all know, AI are no longer operating. I have various options for replacing the amp but none of them have two channels I can use to continue with the pick up/mic approach. This looks like it may do the job ( I have used a Fishman pre-amp to date but that is getting old now as well). Can anyone confirm that it has phantom power on the mic line and whether you can use both inputs simultaneously? It looks promising but I am an idiot when it comes to tech so need the help of a grown up. Many thanks.
  19. Hi Charlie, I’ll send you a private message on here but essentially happy to post ☺️👍
  20. Then I'll have only spent 30 quid on a big pile of plugins, 🤷🏻. Have you never gained something for free on top of a purchase you wanted and not looked the gift horse in the mouth? As it happens, all of the plugins in question are well supported in to hardware that I don't even own yet, so that's a non-issue anyway. You do come across as the fun police in this post. So what if someone wants to get a plugin in because, I dunno, it looks pretty. And, actually, there are plenty of plugins out there whose presets are very valuable in learning how to set up sounds yourself. (Logic's plugin presets can be helpful ) Sonible's 'Learn' suite is a great place to start offering features that Logic does not and it was available for a super deal on Plugin Boutique recently. Logic IS very good, but lets be honest, there are better sounding plugin products out there, you know that, I know that. Of the piles of examples I could give, Spitfire's free orchestral strings sound better than Logic's. Loud_Melody has already said they want to pursue music, so why not have this discussion rather than gatekeeping the learning process? Music creation is supposed to be fun too and if a 3rd party sampler, plugin or utility product helps turn ideas in to reality, then why TF not? I just got lucky with an online promotion and maybe Loud_Melody will too. Then £30 for a professional musican / producer is looking like a pretty good deal, I guess.
  21. Today
  22. Last live music we went to was Floor Jansen’s Strijdlust concert in the Musiekgebouw in Eindhoven. Really great performance, this was an extra evening put on and it got sold out in less than an hour. The videoed the concert with the prospect of releasing it. the concept was of Floor’s fight to get where she is now, Strijdlust translates as Fighting Spirit. My wife is not a Floor fan at all and she was quite moved by the concert and the stories between the music, myself, at times it was very difficult to hold the emotions under control, especially when my wife was holding on to me very tightly.
  23. Mint condition Funkzilla up for grabs… only used a handful of times at home… never gigged… and works perfectly. Comes with original box, bag, and manual… but I’m unable to find the 4 rubber feet at the bottom. From Premier Guitar: “Funkzilla blends an all-analog filter engine with tap tempo, variable waveforms, rhythmic patterns, direction and expression control.” Priced at £135 collected in Stevenage… or additional £5, posted to a UK address. I’m the 1st owner… since it’s not getting used, I’m putting it out for sale… but honestly, aside from being a great envelope filter in mint condition, I’m having some hesitation selling as these rarely come out for sale.
  24. Lovethong. The Damned
  25. I deffo don’t want this 🥵
  26. You’re time tone is really bad, …very bad, a lot of people say my time tone is the best tone they’ve ever heard…no one knows more about time tone than me, a lot of folk say that…it’s great, really great. My time amp tone has stopped a lot of wars, really bad wars…Star Wars, robot wars (that was a really bad one)…warhammer,
  27. Imagine how I felt when the bass I ordered on 18/09/2024 finally arrived on 13/08/2025... frankly I'm amazed I got it, considering this was an oldco Bax order being fulfilled by newco Bax post bankruptcy.
