  2. I recently purchased a 1995 Japanese Fender Jazz - a ‘62 reissue with dark cherry foto flame finish. It’s one of the smoothest necks I’ve played and it sounds wonderful with a set of Thomastiks! However, the foto flame finish is very cracked and starting to peel away in some areas. I’m considering having it taken back to the wood and resprayed in a period accurate colour. I’m on the fence between Fiesta Red, Shell Pink or Black - all with a tortoiseshell scratch plate. Also considering a nitro, rather than poly, finish. Good idea? Any opinions on colour? There’s always the option to keep the foto flame…
  3. What’s the word on the street as to when some more stock will hit the shelves? Feeling very left out ATM!
  4. Our EVRI driver is amazing. We usually cross paths with her when we’re out walking the dog in the morning. She will always wave us down and let us know whether she has anything for us and if she has, roughly what time she will make it to our house. A truly lovely human being.
  5. Can anyone tell me about the relative merits of these respective models? What practical advantages does the Pro version offer? Is it worth spending £25 more than the basic version? I want to buy a headphone amp for home noodling, playing along to YouTube ect and the Nux seems to be the only Bluetooth option. I'm not planning to use it for anything more ambitious than that. I'm not very tech-orientated, to put it mildly, so simplicity and less options might be a good thing in certain respects Any experience, advice or suggestions much appreciated.
  6. Thank you Nick 😀…I hope you are doing well.
  7. Bought a 5 with single pu and refinished it. The paint was falling off, and not in a nice way. So I stripped it . The pickguard was cracked in three pieces so I made a new one Very nice to play and lovely feel, neck, knobs and all IMG_20250214_112627.heif
  8. Maybe its been mentioned on TB Rob ? Dave
  9. Nate Navarro just dropped a P vs J bass battle video. P is the clear victor in my ears:
  10. Ever wanted that mega Bi phase action like a musitronic! But smaller and cheaper. These are difficult to find, so my last bump.
  11. Tiny request: When reporting content to moderators, please SAY why you are reporting it and what you want us to look into.  Much as we enjoy figuring out blank reports, it'd make life much easier. Ta!

  12. Me too, do I need a stack? No. Do I want one? Yes. However don’t tell @stevie
  13. Even if you have a good local driver this may be fleeting, they have a pretty high turnover of staff due to working conditions and pay. Your next one (or substitute driver when the regular guy takes time off) might be like the driver who nicked my Sonicake pedal and threw my Shimano front chainring and Tonerider pickup over the fence of a completely different house so they sat outside in the rain for a couple of days. The company is trash and noting that some of their staff try to paper over these very deliberate cracks does not benefit anyone not working in Evri's upper management.
  14. @LukeFRC @grahamd My Shark Pro-active pictured I bought new so yours are still out there somewhere...
  15. I am so excited to get this one down at last. This is the complete John Patitucci performance of the Leonard Bernstein tune 'America' as performed by Dave Grusin for the 1997 'West Side Story' album. A stunning recording that I hope to get to transcribe in its entirety (this is the longest piece so the rest should be easy enough). Coming in ay 8:20, there is a lot to take in but, stick with it. The bulk of the piece is in 7:8 but, once you get inside the groove, the reading gets easier. The logic seems to present itself as you internalise the rhythm. Great stuff. The fact that the harmony is relatively stable helps massively too. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/america-dave-grusin/
  16. It uses the same 700AS1 ICEPower module as the Ashdown and Mesa models that either claim 800 watts or have 800 in the model number, so RM800 all Evos. Mesa Subway D800 series plus Ashdown Retroglide 800. There will be others that I do not know about.
  17. My local EVRI guy is great so it seems I am a halfwit, too! Lots of us around. Must be lonely up there @Alanko
  18. A super simple transaction completed for a Boss wireless. Rosie sent me the unit to check I was happy before I had to pay a penny! A credit to Basschat
  19. Today
  20. How was my rehearsal last night? Awful. I could have transplanted my fingers with Tesco Value sausages and it would have been an improvement, and as for my sense of timing, that deserted me as I was tuning up. Everyone else seemed OK with it though, we made good progress apparently.
  21. Is it possible to run the bxr 400 into a single cab? I’m not trying to run both inputs. I just wanna know nothing is gonna blow if i just rig it up like you would any other bass head. One head one cab etc.
  22. Best amp I’ve ever played. Can’t afford, probably don’t need, but boy I wish I could get it! GLWS
  23. This is the first of several BB1000's I have owned. After 20+ years of this bass being my favourite tool for live and studio work, I decided to give it a makeover. During the time the bass was at the painter, I became very friendly with another 1000MA. But when I took this bass out of its bag yesterday, I immediately knew what I was holding in my hand again. This neck, this specific weight, which my arm immediately recognised... For me and what I do, this is the best bass in the world. And by God, I've had so many more expensive axes, but this is the bass of my life. The new paintwork should still be dark on the one hand, but on the other it should catch the odd spotlight on stage. I tell you, little sparks fly in the sunlight.. 🤩
  24. Or a voluntary redundancy?
  25. Peaches. Bloody horrible song.
