  1. Past hour
  2. I think even Nigel Harisson clocked that one back in the day.....😇
  3. It's not listed on any of the various DX7 presets and cartridge sounds including those from 3rd party vendors so it's probably something someone at your college created.
  4. Frankly, and this isn't a universal opinion, but within bounds almost any mainstream bass can handle any sort of playing. You will get people who swear by their fender stuff and people that go the other way, but if you are learning, as long as you have something that is basically decent to play you will do fine. In fact you won't really know what it is you want until you have tried something you don't. So just go ahead and try everything you can try. I am pretty well exclusively a 5 string player who likes non fender things, so I can't really say about fenders (except my new £62 bax jazz bass like aquaition) but always a fan of things ibanez and maybe 80/90s japanese. You don't really need reviews of aria pro IIs, they are all basically good, some better than others. If you have the option to try stuff, just try it and see how it feels. I have never heard the increased noise on a P / J, electrically that seems very unlikely, but people don't like them because they are not a 'standard fender thing'.
  5. Just met up today to buy a Greenboy Fearless F112 cab from Lorenz. Nice guy, good condition gear, easy deal. Many thanks 👍
  6. I'm another Shure 215 lover. They replaced a KZ10 and a custom fit set. For me the 215 with the large silicone ear pieces sound fantastic.
  7. Not sure. We had a DX7 at college and that was the patch I always tried to use. Nice warm string sound, which at the time didn't sound dated.
  8. Excellent - look forward to catching up.
  9. Which ROM was it on? Was it an original unit patch or a DX7II patch?
  10. Today
  11. It was my favourite patch on the DX7.
  12. Thanks, I was intending to take that wanted ad down for now though. Will keep my eye on this .
  13. @AinsleyWalker is this the right one? I can’t tell if it’s black from the picture.
  14. An excellent 6/12-stage phaser, being a clone of the revered Moogerfooger 103. I’ve just received a brand new exemplar from Andertons today as a replacement for one I bought a few months ago that had a loose connection. I’m on a drive to raise money due to unemployment so don’t even want to put this on my board. As yet I haven’t even opened it. I’m happy to leave it unopened or to open to test and photograph for the buyer (once payment is received) if desired. Price includes recorded UK postage. Stock photo for illustrative purposes.

  15. I went from the 215s to the older versions of the ZS10, it was a good upgrade
  16. Maybe he thought seeing as Debbie Harry doesn`t/can`t sing them properly anymore why should he play them properly 🤣
  17. My usual stance on this subject is to do the song how it was written/recorded. However we`re now doing Won`t Get Fooled Again by The Who, and although each part is easy enough I`m having real difficulty in remembering it all, so for me intro, verses, choruses as per recording, the rest I`ll persist with but will be ad-libbed til then.
  18. Well I’ve had the Chromes on for around a week now and gigged them on Saturday night! Very much enjoying them so thanks for all advice! I’ve never really enjoyed flats in the past but these seem to be exactly what i was looking for on this bass. I think i need to spend a little more time with the EQ to get a little bit more high end coming through but in honesty, the soundcheck tone checking time was spent trying to fight an electrical buzz so it finished up a little rushed. It’s ended up being an expensive string month for me as i still had an itch to try the EB Cobalts, so due to seeing them for £20 on sale on ‘Bezos emporium of everything’, I grabbed a set for my Jazz. Put them on today and I’m well impressed so far! They do sound like nice rounds and the tension is lovely! I’m still happy with the chromes on my SS though, as the price of the SS Cobalts is around £30 more than i paid for the LS! Anyway, thanks for everyone’s help.
  19. I was in an old school rock & roll band for a while. The drummer put the band together said that he wanted 'to put some more oomph into it'. This meant speeding everything up, and playing too loud. I played him my 'go to' track that shows this doesn't have to be the way - 'That's Alright Mama'. Fortunately it clicked immediately and we calmed everything down and had a nice, successful band for a couple of years.
  20. Welcome to the Black Parade - My Chemical Romance
  21. Fantastic, I am there all weekend so will try say hi!
  22. I had not intended to paint a cow that morning. The plan was to paint a fence.
