Black Horse and the Cherry Treacle - KT Tunstall

Only recently got this as I've wanted to try one for a while as a possibly workhorse for a function band. These are great basses but I don't think its the one for me at the moment. Really good quality and nice feel to it, and a good B string. Weighs in at around 4.3kgs. In great condition, only 1 mark on the body, the scratch plate and rear panel still have the cellophane on them. Could be interested in trades for 4 or 5 strings. Would prefer collection from Chelmsford, comes with a good Yamaha gig bag but I don't currently have packing material to ship. Any questions please ask!

Obviously - a reissue isn't designed to fake an original, it is designed to look similar, have the same design cues and capture the same asthetic. It doesn't fake a 60s serial number, or other such things. Nothing wrong particualy with relicing, if that is what people want, that isn't trying to fool anyone, I mean one flea jazz looks exactly like every other flea jazz, and again, is a copy of a thing, not trying to fake.

Maybe been posted here before but this popped up on my YouTube feed today, and was only posted two days ago... Perhaps goes without saying, but it's a good watch!

Saturday night was a wedding at a new venue for us in Lincoln. Long old day with travel included. We performed the ceremony, drinks and evening + DJ which is fairly regular package for us. But when we have a few hours travel on these as well they are killer days. Woke at 6am… Left the house at 7.30am and got home at 3.20am. Worked out at around 20hr day (ish). Still, just the one gig this week so not too bad. This can get relatively regular in the Summer so taking it as a nice easy week. All round a really good day. Lovely couple and group of people which were well up for it in the evening and a good sound with no limiter! Good first dance too. ‘Silver’ by The DMA’s which we smashed (if I do say so) Although, we are going through a few weeks of technical frustrations. Struggling quite a bit with something causing an intermittent cut out/ crackle in our IEMs. Thought we’d cracked it but it appeared again for a couple of songs... Sometimes wonder whether we’d be better with corded IEMs but with only 1 aux feed sending to 2 IEMs I don’t know whether this is achievable…? More investigation needed Also struggled with a horrible grounding type issue on my bass in soundcheck. Noise gate and reducing the gain on my pedal seemed to fix it but strange it’s never been an issue before. I’ve gone back to the Zoom B3 after having a few gigs using my new Laney Digbeth pedal. But, I really missed the cab sim within the SVT patch so not sure whether I’ll just stick with the B3 or try and find a way to make the Digbeth work as it does sound great. Anyway, the important bit… Brown Asda boots that I picked up on the way to a gig a few months ago after the guitarist let my Dr Martens fall out of the van on his drive without realising.

One thing I have noticed about time is some people use it wisely and some squander it. Some believe in delayed gratification and some want immediate fun. Some invest and improve their resources some don’t. Often the end results can be traced back to the use of time. I certainly squandered more of my time than many of my more successful friends and colleagues and don’t feel that I should have a slice of their cake.

It would take me a lot longer to drive around Silverstone than it takes Lewis Hamilton. I feel underpaid. I don't know if your point is beyond the scope of this thread, really. When you pay a royalty for the fruits of creative work, the main resource for which you are paying is time. My materials cost me a very small sum. I haven't even broken a pencil in years.

I knew what you meant, but I still had to go and look up 'The Dunning Kruger Effect', which (Wiki tells me) dates back to 1999. As far as I know the AWB was still going in 2023. So is this, strictly speaking. 'modernising? (I can't do Paddington Hard Stares)

Saw GUN do an acoustic set at St Luke’s in Glasgow. It’s a beautiful venue and a great version of their songs, some of which they’d never done live before. I’m thinking we could do an acoustic set from our set list?
