Sexy bass stands

If anyone is looking for the actual most compact and decent stand in the world, check out the Ibanez PT32

 

It fits into a slim gig bag pocket. Really neat design, and very stable (still wouldn't use on stage)

I recently ordered a couple of the rather good Fender "Offset Bass" mini stands, which are perfect for Jazz Basses, as you can make the left side slightly higher. They're very stable and surprisingly compact. Not sexy like the Openhagen, though. Why they didn't think of this 60 years ago, I have no idea...

I use hercules on stage. Got two of the foam leg type as the type with the fold down bit is useless on stage.

 

I now use my one the foldy bit with it not folded down for my current home noodle bass.

 

All my other basses/guitars are either cased, on the wall or in a rack.

 

I keep my acoustics on the wall or on these:

 

 

Excuse the stickers... it was my daughter's, she wanted to sell it as happy with her Tanglewood and I didn't have an electoacoustic.

The walls of my late-victorian terrace are seemingly made of a mixture of sand and, er, cheese? So I don't hang anything heavier than an acoustic guitar by its neck.

 

I keep my basses and various other household instruments in a big wooden rack that fits into an alcove. 

 

It's something my wife designed and made from the remains of a heavy oak table. I'd been looking for a new stand to replace my manky old one, but found they're all designed with guitars in mind – that means basses sit leaning back at an angle, forcing you to either bash them into the wall all the time or make bad use of space by leaving a 30-cm gap behind the rack.

 

Here's the design mock-up in my wife's old workshop with CNC'd dummy versions of my basses.

Here's some food for thought. Some are nicer than others -- I particularly like no.7, although it's not a folding one.
