Sad but when thinking about it it’s almost like he could let go once he’d played that last gig with his old mates.

He had to have known his number was up when he did the Back To The Beginning show the other week. He was probably given six months to live or something. What a send-off though.

Just heard also, a huge fan for many years . Saw him a few times over the years , The best being 4th row on the Blizzard of ozz tour .

i have removed the Sharon comments as rightly told by @BassApprentice as now really isn’t the time .😬

Loved Sabbath Bloody Sabbath as a younger me, and subsequent albums too, played Paranoid and War Pigs in a band with my mates as a teenager, influential singer/front man who was a larger than life character.

 

RIP Ozzy 👌🏼😞

Deeply saddened by this news. We all knew it was coming but I didn't expect it so soon after the Back to the Beginning show. 

An absolute legend, who lived more of a life than most of us could ever imagine.

Wow, only just seen this on the news. I'm shocked and I don't know why because he's obviously been very unwell for some time. Puts a different perspective on things if he knew he was getting close to the end.

 

 No exaggeration to say that Ozzy and Sabbath were a big part of my life and my imagination going back to when I was a kid in the 1970's. Ozzy was a cult icon even back then, before the rest of the world joined in. It's the end of an era, but his legend will only grow. Sabbath's music has already stood the test of time, and I have no doubt people will still be listening to them a hundred years from now.

 

 A one-off original, the genuine article. Rest in peace Ozzy.

As business driven and unlikeable as you may find her - her husband has passed away.

I don’t really form emotional bonds to celebrities as they’re just normal people like you and me, but I always had a soft spot for Ozzy.

 

My first big gig was Ozzfest. Great introduction to rock and live music. 
 

Seemed like he had a good life and a happy family. Isn’t that what most of us want?

Sadness and shock.

 

Although frail I don't think anyone would have thought that Ozzy was going to pass away so soon after the Back to the Beginning concert. 

 

He was part of a band that changed music and will always be amongst a small group of musicians who are legends.

Sad day for music. He did it his way and won. Huge respect to the legend that is Ozzy. RIP and condolences to the family and close friends.

We will all miss you.

Basically, he won at life and completed the game - the gig the other week was the big boss fight and he won. I'm noting that there's no mention anywhere of his cause of death - would be entirely unsurprised to find out he went to Dignitas or something. He did everything he wanted to do and went out with a blast.
