I'm sorry if you have taken offence That was never my intention. I'm certainly not associating him with Gary Glitter. It's just he was part of the same era of popular culture. I was thought I was making a lighthearted point about how abjectly crap stage gimmicks were back in those days by today's standards. I only mentioned Alvin Stardust because I vividly remember him and that glove during those days. I could just as easily mentioned how people thought Roxy Music had such a glamorous and futuristic image at the time. I cant believe people are so suprised about him. There are still equally dodgy people on terestial tv that millions of people adore on a Saturday night. I've seen versions of the Glitter band a couple of times, since Gadd got convicted, brilliant gigs they played all the Gary Glitter hits, went down a storm, I suppose if Gary's not playing them it's different, great songs. He's still rather angry that Gadd's crimes have made it almost impossible to be a fan or even listen to his music for the past 20 odd years. In Jackson's case the evidence would easily have reached the civil threshold for proving the allegations. The case was used for training new staff in evidence evaluation. Unfortunately this includes abusing children. Jackson was obviously a gay man who had an obsession with young boys. I know people dont want to believe it and i still love Off the wall and Thriller but after looking deeply into the evidence presented in the case i was pretty much convinced. The frightening thing is Pederastry has been going on since the dawn of humanity and people just being disgusted,outraged or trying to set fire to these people and chase them with vigilanties (which hinders prosecution cases more than helps)will just drive them more underground. I myself am starting to think that unfortunately and abhorrent as it is that people might be born like this.As i say shocking but working in the job i do people on the outside just do not realise how prevelant in society it is.
