It’s usually the way with short scale variants unfortunately. The same way that fretless versions tend to cost more than fretted. Less is more…. Cash in this case.

So they moved the bridge closer to the neck by the look of it, so they won't be much shorter in reach than a 33" bass or smaller bodied and likely to be neck dive prone surely - I don't get it

How to produce a short scale version of a classic design without the need to retool. Actually, quite smart thinking from a business perspective. However, I suspect that there will be little, or no weight saving over the full scale versions, which has always been my problem with all maple Rics. The upside is that they shouldn’t look tiny on those with larger frames. In short (no pun intended), I’d like to try one.
