cetera Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Saw the Doobie Brothers last Thursday in Birmingham... and on Saturday at the London O2 Arena. Simply fantastic.... consummate singers, musicians and performers.... and still putting most other acts to shame. Wonderful!🎶👍😎 3 Quote

Tell me you don’t miss playing in a proper ground. If Fulham left Craven Cottage that would be the end for me. PS Saw the Doobies twice in 74. As with Springsteen I don’t dare go again, it couldn’t be the same… Quote
nekomatic Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Lee Ritenour at Band on the Wall - proper jazz-fusion royalty and no mistake. Munir Hossn playing some sort of singlecut six-string behemoth which I could not identify, and neither will you be able to from my terrible picture. Supported by Rosie Frater Taylor who rose to the challenge of holding the interest of a room full of (mostly) blokes who were there for Lee Ritenour with a solo set pretty well, I thought. Bonus artistic photo effect courtesy of my iPhone’s mind of its own. 1 Quote
SonnyBassPlayer Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Max Richter two weeks ago in Ravenna (IT) I'm usually a rock-punk concert goer and that was an incredible music experience for me. Quote

Si600 Posted Tuesday at 12:57 Posted Tuesday at 12:57 UK Subs on Friday evening at Wacken. I was intending to watch Papa Roach but given the swamp in front of the stage and how far back I was I decided to see who else was on and stuck with them. I enjoyed it more than Papa Roach to be honest even though I don't know any of their stuff. 2 Quote

Leonard Smalls Posted Tuesday at 14:16 Posted Tuesday at 14:16 Saw the Daley-Crowe Blues Band in a pub garden in Bishops Castle on Sunday early eve... It was their first gig, but you'd never know it - they were excellent. Basically just blues covers with a couple of Hendrix and ZZ Top numbers but all played very well indeed. Though I knew they would, I used to be in band with Tim D and so was familiar with his guitar stylings! Quote

They’re a great band, I’m sure Charlie will be giving Keef a run for his money as he seems to be going on forever, and Alvin Gibbs on bass is simply immense. 1 Quote
Sean Posted Wednesday at 14:21 Posted Wednesday at 14:21 I saw Lita Ford at KK's Steel Mill in Wolverhampton two weeks ago. She did her cover of the duet she did with Ozzy back in the day called If I Close My Eyes Forever the day after Ozzy died to a mainly West Midlands audience, that was emotional. Overall Lita still rocks and she rocks her red leather catsuit but he superpower seems to be spinning about 50 minutes of material out to 90 minutes. The highlight of the evening was her being joined on stage by Vixen to perform an all girls rendition of an old Runaways number. Vixen as a support band were very impressive and Ms Julia Lage (Mr R Kotzen's "other 'alf") on bass is quite the performer. Vixen is one of those bands from back in the day that has just one original member (the drummer) but it was good entertainment executed very well indeed. 1 Quote
ProjeKtWEREWOLF Posted Wednesday at 14:54 Posted Wednesday at 14:54 I took my wife and daughter to see Wednesday 13 at the Tivoli in Buckley. Absolutely no my things but they put on a good show. The In-House sound is atrocious though. The bass player's Stingray was unrecognisable as such. Loads of mud and zero tone. The sound is always bad at the venue. Quote

A local band had a great extended spot in the crowded beer garden of the pub next to the Castle for the 2 ½ hours before the doors opened. Onebof my bands had that spot booked for next Thursday with Terrorvision at the Castle. Our bl got a new job and neither of my other bands could make the afternoon setup time. 😭😭😭😭😭 1 Quote
