1. No experience of the specific lead you refer to but I once bought a cheaper "Chinese" iRig from Ebay which was so noisy upon arriving that it was for all intents and purposes useless ... make of that what you will .
2. Mick I'm due to work that day , I've asked for the day off and if it's granted I'm happy to help out in any way needed . If the leave is refused I'll be along after 3pm to buy a load of raffle tickets ! Stu
3. Back of my Hand - The Jags - a cracking song that I always enjoyed playing with my band .
4. Bought a gig bag from Andy , nice easy transaction and a pleasure to deal with . Thanks Andy!
5. I have one of these and they are awesome amps and I don't use that phrase lightly . The 'clean' channel goes through a volume pot only then straight through the valves to the GH12 speaker , this really shows the true tone of your pickups , and can do chimney Vox style cleans , Just breaking up ' Classic Rolling Stones ' tones and much more . The 'dirty' channel has 3 gain stages going from rocking break up , to insane overdrive . All tones very musical ,takes pedals really well , enough volume to keep up with a furious drummer and a 1 hand lift into and out of the boot of your car! They don't make this model anymore and they are already highly regarded and sought after , if you're in the market for a valve guitar amp , do yourself a favour and snap this up.
6. i'm a big fan , got all of the albums , how may i be of service? ah just seen that you're compiling a double CD ... is it just a "best of" kinda thing you're after or a sampler as their output is really quite diverse ?
7.
I bought the 'Studio Spares' own brand equivalent, which was cheaper. Struggling to find it on their website at the moment, though. But it is invaluable - probably the single cheapest improvement in your sound you can make.
This ^^^^^^ .
8. I don't know who 'They' are ...but I never want to hear them again.
9. I have massive GAS for one of these now ....
10. If I recall the making of documentary from a few years ago correctly John Taylor of Duran Duran played Bass and there was a tears for fears sample in there at the beginning too...
11.
That is a fantastic bass , It is one I wish that i should have never sold !!!!! If you ever decide to sell it ...................................

I dont suppose that you fancy a trade for a Pink Paisley precision do you ??
If you had a 57 or 63 P reissue then I might have been interested ....
12.
That buttercream is epic, I'd have a tort guard on it myself but that is easy and a personal thing.
Got the Tort guard that came with it too , best of both worlds !
13. Stingray 5's you say ... Here's mine which I bought here last year from ChrisHorton . The photos are from his for sale thread.
14. The first artists that sprang to my mind were : Wilco (the Mermaid Avenue albums made with Billy Bragg are a great starter , with lyrics by Woddy Guthrie) Ryan Adams/Whiskeytown (Heartbreaker/Gold by R.A and Strangers Almanac/Pneumonia are my faves )
15. i'd settle for mild dis-interest from 1 Sophia Vergara any day ...
16. Nah , still not convinced - they sound different , you play them different , they are their own thing although perhaps the monikker "Acoustic Bass " when used in a direct comparison to an acoustic guitar is a misnoma and Acoustic/Electric is more appropriate... sorry above is in response to Rhys P
17. i dont get this " waste of time " standpoint , you could say the same for pointy basses , Erbs , or any fretted bass made after the 51 precision ... I have one that i picked up in the Ad's here they're , great for home noodling , open mics and informal acoustic sessions ( yes you need an amp , but a small practice amp usually suffices) . My one has a very versatile pre-amp with direct out too so I just run a small amp for a monitor and go straight in to the desk. and i do find that i play differently (both basslines and technique) on it , as opposed to my electric basses . i think they're a good tool to have in your bag if you have your fingers in a few different musical pies so to speak and bargains often come up in the for sale ad's here !
18.
I thought it was cello, not DB!
Yup , String quartet (Cello, Viola,2x Violin) then re-recorded for added depth but no DB part .
19. Played outdoors at a local schools music festival ,loads of different acts from kids choirs , teenagers 1st gigs , bands put together for 1 day and us (functions Soul band). It was my first time out with the BG250 and it sounded brilliant on stage , plenty of headroom with a loud dep drummer ! We weren't headlining so pressure was off a bit so we tried a couple of new tunes for us (Green Onions and Superstition) , was pleased that they went down well and neither were trainwrecks ... Was home and unloaded by 9pm which made this mornings 4:30am alarm not quite so painful...
20. I'm a massive Beatles fan and could never choose just 1 album , I also consider that you should listen to the singles released in conjunction with each album as they're not on the albums , ie I consider Paperback Writer/Rain as an extension of Revolver and Strawberry Fields Forever/ Penny Lane as the same to Sgt Pepper as they were recorded during the same sessions. Hope you can find something to enjoy !
21. Thanks to Mick and everyone else involved for great afternoon !
