  1. I've just ordered a DOD Carcosa fuzz pedal from Hotrox. I am planning to swap out my Swollen Pickle for the Carcosa.
  2. I absolutely love Doom. Almost as much as I love Black Metal. The new Bongripper LP is amazing.
  3. Current setup. Waiting for a Laney Digbeth DB-PRE, and a 60cm patch lead to connect the SP to the Wooly Mammoth clone. I don't think I like the Swollen Pickle on the board because the Splinter needs to be on to give it sufficient boost. The Wooly Mammoth clone is very nice though. The chorus was £30 and due an upgrade to something else. I absolutely love the Orange Kongpressor. It adds a really nice flavour to the clean tone. DIY pedal board made from an IKEA shelf (remember this one kids!?). The power supply is a Cioks DC7 screwed to the underside. I tend to play doom and black metal, but messing about with a 90s alternative rock cover band too.
  4. Theres a photo of the ID label (from the underside of the cab) in the OP.
  5. The bands were all Metal/Nu Metal acts. They performed as I'd have expected them to. They were proficient and knew their material. It *might* have been the PA? I was at the front, with a barrier between me and the stage. I just felt deflated after the night ended. I had not seen an obviously ampless gig before. There was no on stage backline, and the bands shared members/equipment (practical re pay, setup etc)
  6. As a punter, I hate it. I saw several tribute acts recently at a medium sized venue, who all played direct into the PA. I was stage front, and it was strange and lacking in Energy. As a musician, I like to feel my clothes flapping in the air coming off the cabs. It's ROCK AND ROLL! I'm a recent returnee to playing though and haven't arrived at the point where I need to decide on this approach. I might feel different.
  7. Kvadrat 'The Horrible Dissonance of Oblivion'. Fantastic debut from a Greek solo black metal artist. His future is promising. Kvadrat on Youtube
  8. It would be financially irresponsible for me to buy two 2x12s, when I like the sound I have now. I just want to move some more air lol. I'm waiting to hear back from a guy 2 hours drive from me who's selling a K212. That would be the ideal solution. If I could afford it I would probably try another brand but l I liked the combination of the head and this cab. Go figure. 😁
  9. You're a star. Made him an offer. It's a 2+ hour drive for me lol. Yikes
  10. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  11. I'm not sure I am looking at the watts. It's cheap, an additional cab in the same range, and most importantly available to buy. I'd just add a 2x12 l series but they're like hens teeth. Buying two new 2x12s or 2x10s would be financially irresponsible. I do appreciate the feedback.
  12. Where's that? I'm at the far end of north Wales. Everything is far away.
  13. No idea about the impedance. Need to remove the back and disconnect the speaker wired according to the guide I found. Not today, Satan. It's a guitar speaker. The tweed version seems to be a pedal steel cab, but this is a straight guitar cab. This will be what it gets used for. My first mistake was assuming BW= bass. Amateurish error.
  14. I've just found a k series 4x10 for £180. Hmmmm. 600w at 8 ohms, but chunky. Lol. I'm thinking about it.
  15. Fair points. The bottom end isn't what I'm after; the k212 is a great cab and I love it. The cab is an annoying size. I'd add a 2x12 if I could find something that would fit tbh.
  16. Even though the head will put out 500w at 4ohms? The k-212 is 8ohms, so 300w. Full 500w with another 8 ohm cab!?
  17. Advice needed on Peavey 115 BW This is sort of related to another if my posts. I picked up a Peavey Nashville 115e 1x15 cabinet for £30. I'd hoped to use it as an extension cabinet with my 2x12. I had no idea what it was before I collected it! There's almost no information on this thing online. *maybe* it was made for pedal steel (hence the Nashville thing). Sounds decent enough with my small guitar head and 7 string. Can anyone tell me what the impedance on the speaker is, or at least how to find out myself, please? Thank you all.
  18. The TC Electronic K series is really hard to find. They were discontinued years ago and an awkward size. They are indeed 8 ohms. I used to run a 2x15 back in the day lol.
  19. I hope someone has some ideas because it's stumped me. I have a TC electronic k-212 cab, which I use with a Tech 21 vt bass 500 head. Currently I get 300w output at 8 ohms, but need more volume as the genre of music I'm playing has changed. I want to add a 1x15 cab to go under the 2x12 cab I have., or a 2x12 that would do the same/stack on top. I ont want to drop £1000+ on two new cabs. I'm struggling to find anything suitable to do the job. I need one that's big enough to stack the 2x12 on top of safely. The k-115 is incredibly hard to get now.. They all are. Ideally I'd get one. I didn't think ahead!! The cab measurements are: W x H x D 690 x 395 x 456 (from the product page) Budget is sub £600. Thanks for reading.
