Does anyone have experience of the 5 string version? I have a v5 4 string, and love it, but I need another 5!

Cioks is worth the money imo. I used a Caline brick previously, and it was only a little noiser, but not as flexible. I started messing with my 'new' setup, even before the Cioks 8 comes. The Wah came off because I couldn't figure out how to fit it in, as well as the ehx Tri Parallel.

What *have* I done!?? I've just ordered a Cioks 8 Extender for my DC7. Too many pedals doubled up on single outputs. Messy. Image from the website, obviously. I'm about to switch from a modest home made wooden board to a Pedaltrain Novo 24.....which is enormous and completely overkill. I'll get my Dunlop wah back on the board though. Will post pics when I get it figured out. Next big purchase will probably be a Darkglass Bk7 ultra pedal.

I'm trying. I get the impression that the drummer is keen to get a more rock sound than just doing Stones, Credence and Gary Moore. I really dislike Gary Moore. I'm giving it one more rehearsal, to see how it feels.

Second rehearsal with a group. I feel a little tricked into it, really. Told it was "rock", but ended up being 90% straight up blues rock...splitting hairs maybe. It isn't my thing at all, and not particularly enjoying it. They're unprepared and musically sloppy. . I'm almost certain that I won't continue. This makes me sad because I miss playing with people, but it doesn't *feel* right. Conundrum. Equipment wise, it was a Tech 21 VT Bass 500 head with a TC Electronic k 212 cab. It's louder than my usual Orange OBC115, but doesn't sound as warm. Bass was a Sire V5 (24 fret version). Pedalboard was tuner, Empress Bass Compressor and a Laney Digbeth DI pedal. I miss my stacked fuzz pedals.

Seeing a band, or buying music.....no. I am a fan of many punk, black and death metal bands with wildly different political views to me. Playing *long term* with people on the opposite end of the spectrum is a definite no no. I've tried it. I was asked to play for a pretty extreme far left punk band (a friend pushed me into it!) and I found them really irritating as people, always on about ; I'm pretty middle of the road and don't like to talk politics. I think differences are good, but extreme differences make things unpleasant. Someone has to keep their opinions to themselves. I don't think it can work other than depping/short term financial gain. We are allowed to hold opinions other people disagree with (even if they are distasteful), and criminal actions should be prosecuted. We also don't have to be in a band with anyone we don't want to be. It's not worth the misery.

Interesting. I don't have much opportunity to try stuff in real life nowadays.

Dumb question; is the venture capable of more than one 'baked in' sound e.g SVT? I'm looking for replacement for my Tech 21 VT Bass 500 which does SVT through to a B-15 reasonably well for a solid state amp.

I just got back from a first session with a new rock and blues type band. We are all middle aged and up. The lady time I played bass in a band, the bass was by my knees, but now it's past my waist. I'm old....😩 I played a Sire V5 through a tech 21 VT Bass 500 head into an Orange OBC 115. Really nice sounding, but not a lot of projection at floor level. I might switch out for a TC Electronic k 212 (also a lot lighter). The material was pretty much all new to me; my background is punk and metal but I really miss playing. Some of the stuff had been really difficult to learn , and I need to work on my charting. I'm not sure if this will last, but I'm giving it a few practices to see if it gels.

I've made several smaller purchases from them in the past month. They've been quick, safely packaged and the price was good. I can't complain.
