  1. I saw a Gallien Krueger video on YouTube recently, with his 'replacement'. Might be useful. Found it.
  2. More positive feedback for Mike. Bought a Kink Audio Dozer fuzz pedal. Well packed, good price. I'm happy. It's a monster pedal, that I think has kicked my Way Huge Swollen Pickle off my board. Thanks again!
  3. C standard is a *good* tuning. It dooms. Nice little guitars, these.
  4. I think the offers will come rolling in with postage available.
  5. If I didn't need a new cab, I'd be having it. Great sounding bass.
  6. I tend to agree. It's weird that DG, predominantly make amps for metal players, don't provide steel grilles. My money doesn't stretch to Barefaced etc. so I'm leaning towards a Gallien Krueger neo IV cab. Probably a 2x12 to be honest. I already run a TC Electronic k-212, but want something lighter, more compact and more efficient.
  7. As the title suggests, I'm considering buying a darkglass dg212n, but the cloth grille really puts me off. Does anyone know of an aftermarket steel grille for these Darkglass speaker cabs? I'm also considering the Gallien Krueger equivalent, or *maybe* Mesa Subway if I can stretch that far... Thanks all!
  8. I stopped DI-ing from my Tech 21 VT Bass 500 head in favour of this thing haha. I'll have to look for a Capo at some point then. I'm in the search for a new 1x15 bass cab first though.
  9. Cracking piece of kit, doubly so at this price.
  10. Tempting. My 2x12 could do with a big brother....i don't think I have the room. Great sounding cabs, despite the weird design.
  11. Insane price for a new Epiphone, but at least than £500, I'd have one.
  12. Toto 'Hold the Line'.... I know, I know but it's well out of my doom metal wheelhouse. It's a cracking song.
  13. Wasn't the thing with the Grabber, the moveable pickup? I assume this isn't? If I saw one at a good price, I'd snap this up though. They still sound great even without the gimmick.
  14. I have a Charvette (by Charvel) body that needs a new neck. It's my first bass, so it's nostalgia really. It was never *that* good. My luthier told me that the neck is no good; truss rod has broken somewhere. The 'made in Japan' Gotoh tuners are nice though. It's encouraging to see this type of thing. I will measure the neck pocket, and go from there.
  15. Anyone know how good/awful the fretless version turned out to be? I haven't seen any reviews.
  16. This is one of the few punk albums from my teens that I still listen to. NOFX' Punk in Drublic has some good lines too. Al Cisneros was a huge influence on me. Dragonaut is the riff I play first whenever I try a new bass...or fuzz pedal.
  17. I have this. It is actually amazing! I had some knock off stuff from Dunelm when I misplaced it temporarily...it was bad 😅
  18. I'm reasonably handy with building stuff , so yes I'm more likely to build one. This board is at least 7 years old. Built like a tank. Never had an issue getting pedals to stick! The Splinter pedal has an awful rubber back that hates adhesive though. That will need cable ties *if it stays*. I'm constantly changing stuff; the tuner, chorus and Digbeth DB-pre are the only constants (until the Empress arrived!).
  19. Current state. DIY board. Cioks DC7 underneath. New Empress Bass Compressor today. It is so much better than my Orange Kongpressor with an active bass. I've had the Swollen pickle for a long time but I don't really like it. I might put the DOD Carcosa back on. I also have a zvex Woolly Mammoth clone, but it's a weird size so it doesn't fit. The Splinter is cool, but maybe a bit to fuzzy. Will probably swap back for the Joyo Double Thruster (Darkglass BK3 copy?) I'm buying a Kink Audio Dozer fuzz from a member, so.....who knows?! I'm contemplating buying a commercially made board, but might just make a new one with room for 2 more pedals.
  20. He was always a great player, and he could sing along too. I don't agree with his politics, but that's irrelevant. I used to love the band. I got a bit bored after Heavy Petting Zoo though.
  21. I still have pedals from 30+ years ago! I love the idea of the Atlas though. Missing out on functionality because an app is no longer supported is a bit disappointing.
  22. I have an Empress Bass Compressor arriving tomorrow (£217 from Juno). I was agonising between that and the Source Audio Atlas. I figured that the Empress would have better longevity, given that it doesn't rely on external app support etc. I hope I don't regret my decision.
  23. True, and I did it once, but I didn't like permanently changing my bass. It was more limiting.
