Favourite use of effects in songs

What's your favourite use of bass effects in existing songs? I could find a huge list of mine, but I think number one for me has to be Colin Greenwoods fuzz bass line in Exit Music. It's only in the last third of so of the song but it's a fantastic, stupidly fuzzy tone.

I love the reverb Justin Chancellor uses on The Grudge when the song drops down to just bass

Also his use of whammy? Wah? At 9:33 in this, not sure but awesome.

love that part in Rosetta!

most tool stuff has really good use of effects, for me it schism or parabola which are my faves

the start of parabola is awesome! and when its getting real heavy at the end the bass is filth!

Spoilt for choice but I'd go with Parliament: "P Funk (Wants to get Funked Up)" or "Rumpofsteelskin", or Bootsy's solo stuff such as "Ahh...The Name Is Bootsy Baby", pretty much that entire album but especially the title track or "What's A Telephone Bill"

Effects-wise there's a mix of Mu-Tron, Morley Fuzz Wah, Mu-Tron Octave Divider, Big Muff, Roland Echoplex or Space Echo & Eventide Harmonizer (aka R2FunkU) across these songs.

For more modern effects driven funk music I like a bassist called Dodge. A couple of his albums "Mutronic Injection Deluxe" & "Star Bass Invasion" are both great.

Bassballs - 'Lovefool' The Cardigans

Just because it gave me an excuse to buy one.

Just need to introduce Sir Psycho Sexy into the set list now.

+1 for bassballs but I think its actually a classic qtron in sir psycho sexy.

I admit its the only time I brought a pedal because of a song rather than I liked its sound.
