I had one of these cabs in original form from the 70s. It sounded alright but weighed as much as a small car...

The body is pretty interesting in its own right and you could fit a fair few different necks in (if its normal scale length)! Cool!

Does that logo look strange to you? It has a weird shadow around it, like a waterslide transfer...

This is at the top of my list to find one of. But as Jon Said they are rare as hens teeth in the uk and Im yet to see one in the wild :-(

I tried to take some photos of the inside but not had any luck. Guess it must get hot so lots of air space. Bits of handwriting on some of the parts but no dates as far as I can see.

[/quote] I thought that might be the case with the speaker, but it definitely looks the right age. Nothing on the speaker to date it either which is annoying. The only amps i have seen in the brand are trucker solid state heads and cub combos which look like roland cube copies. Im thinking from the font this could well be older, i cant get inside the head to see if there are any valves but there are very large heat dissipation plates on the back of the head.

I have a decent (and about 1/4 the weight) set up so as much as i like the tone I don't plan on keeping it very long! Just trying to fathom out what age and if its worth anything :-) Always more fun to know an items story!

Hello! Today's car boot sale find is a Vintage Custom Sound V Bass Head and Cab. It has a 15" Fane speaker and I have no idea what else. It works and has a nice tone to it but really needs a clean. Does anyone have any idea who made it, what wattage etc and how much it's worth? It is quite expensive. I think its about the third time they've listed it too. Its a shame as id love one to add to my odd vintage Japanese guitars collection. Supposed to sound quite nice with the odd P pickup configuration near the bridge :-)

Well if the bass is anything to go on the guitar will be rather special. I finished repairing the bass earlier this week and strung it up with a set of old flatwounds I had. It not only sounds great but is very easy to play, apart from the fact the body is so slim that it neck dives instantly. I am so pleased! In other news: The missing ferule has been replaced very kindly by Bassassin. A true hero of japanese basses! Will get it set up and strung then il take some better photos! I don't honestly blame him but it is a bit cheeky. Thats a £90 mark up for a deco which is a little steep. Now doing the maths i can see that you could buy the brand new ones shipped from Thomann for half the price of some of them which is a little crazy!

[/quote] I had a dig and noone seems to know very much. Seems they turned up in America too. The body is very interesting as it has such an unusual shape. I also couldn't find any other brands with the same body shape which is unusual for lesser Japanese brands I think. Yes, I have the machine head and all the other parts. It needed a repair to the back of the headstock which I have done now so it's just the one ferrule missing. I can send some more measurements. If you have one that would be awesome!

It's very light and comfy as the body is so small in comparison to the neck. Sounds pretty good too! I think it's the lovechild of a P bass and a BC rich haha!

Hello! Found another bargain bass made in japan and was hoping someone has some info on it, seems like they where pretty scarce. Previous owner said it was made in the fender factory but I'm doubting it. Any help would be greatly appreciated identifing it and I am looking for the one missing string ferrule if anyone has one?
