Some nice gear, including a Fodera. I thought they were totally 'unplayable', 'ugly' and 'obscenely priced'?! He would've known that if he spent less time recording and touring the world with legendary artists and spent more time on basschat...

That Marcus Miller bloke is the same, he has 3-4 Foderas (I think he sold one in 2013 for charity) that he uses regularly and records with :)

What a couple of clowns! Don't they know they'd sound the same on a Squier? Also, P bass with flats trumps everything so they should just get a Squier P with flats or give up now.

Not really a player that I take to for some reason...but he is always there, plays with everyone
and I suspect that I like his playing more than I think would.
You can't argue with the sheer quality of his C.V and the depth of people he has played with.
This is not a guy who just got lucky...

Yeah - He's never rang my bell, either. Clearly a great player, but there's something about him that feels a bit sparkly and shiny for a lot of the stuff he plays.

Someone like Willie Weeks always seems to do it better.

Clearly I'm wrong, though :-)

I'd like his house.

What changed my mind on him tho was when I saw him doing the David Foster Hitman show where he played
bass for the EWF slots where Verdine just jumped around mining.. ;) and EWF tracks are not easy
so either he is a AAA reader ..which he probably is.. but he is also a better groove player than I'd heard before..

I think this is the clip

of course, the bass could be tracked but I wouldn't think DF's house band would need to do that..??

Pulling the trigger on a $1.2 million gaff back in 1995 when he wasn't really established made me think is that his wife was on good money as a paedetrician. Of course with Fourplay's commercial success and Nathan able to command top rate (assuming that he wants to) for tours and sessions, I'm sure they're both laughing all the way to the bank now.

Not sure I'd be very comfortable with a feature on where I live - would be like issuing an open invitation to burglars.

Nathan East was well established before 1995 (maybe not loaded enough for the mansion).
Back as early as 1970/71 he was working for Barry White.

Nathan, apart from great sight reading skills
has seriously good hearing/busking chops as well.
He just seems to slot in with ease with everything he does.
Great musician all round, and the perfect studio player.

Yep, a terrific gaff (love that view).
A member of the magic circle as well.....lol...

Wiki don't really tell the whole story, but an amazing career.
