Squier Precision (JV Series) in Salmon Pink with a Tortoiseshell plate and a Rosewood board.

It's hardly porn and hardly even a 'proper' bass but it's done its job over the last 24 years!! - I'll post a pic later maybe
Hello all,

Just a wee poll for us BCers to get an idea of the spread of basses that we all use!

Apologies if I've left any major manufacturers out...hopefully I've covered most of them

Cheers,

Danny
Here's my Beloved Custom Jaydee :) (The three pickup monster!)

There's some great Jaydee bass & Guitar images I just posted to Flickr if you're a fan of these lovely instruments. There's lots of shots of part built basses and bare chunks of wood soon to become a guitar!

I've had this bass since about 1987 - still absolutely love it! Fits in well for a range of tones with my Musicman and Status basses

Got two - both Ibanez.

A GSR-180 in tobacco sunburst, which I bought a year ago to re-learn what I knew nine years ago (not much - most of it had fallen out :-) )

An ATK-305 in natural finish, so I can join the 5-string club (and I'm mostly gigging with it at the moment. Just restrung it as well)

Piccies to follow (when I get the time)

Having a GAS attach at the moment - basses or amps? Can't decide

Cheers, Ian

Italia Modulo Tipo 3 is my current love partner

Tipo 3

Sounds like a standard P-bass but looks f*cking gorgeous :)
Not a great fan of P-basses but this could change my mind away from Gibson et al. Unless someone comes up with a Guild B301 for the right money .....

Hi All My first post

ESP Surveyor circa 1990, Badass, Bartolini 9s x 2, Hipshot D tuner
Cort Curbow 5 Fret less
Ibanez Sound gear 4 string 32 scale length PJ
Okinawan sanshin 3 string fret less

The Ibanez has a very rigid 3 piece neck and a fantastic sounding vertical hum bucker J at the bridge
The Surveyor has a gorgeous 2 piece ash body
The Cort and the Sanshin are buggers to play - no frets no lines!
Luverly. One of the most under-rated basses ever.....
Cheers.

I'm slowly but surely unlocking some of the tones that have been untapped for the last year!

It's got such a broad tonal palette with the piezos (with internal trim pots), the 3 band EQ and the blends of either/or, that I'm only just getting my head around what can work for me (unfortunately I have a plug in, turn everything on full and play mentality, which doesn't 'quite' work with the Bolin). It also hits my ultimate criteria of being sweet F.A. in weight. :)

I've yet to find a sound that works well with my full-on 'RAWCK' covers band but the other two projects I'm involved with, the Bolin is coming into its own.

I play -

A beautiful series 1 Yamaha TRB 6 in charcoal black (my main live and recording bass)
A custom Warwick Streamer LX6 made for me in 1998 in Emerald Green (my around the house bass)
A 1986 Japanese Fender Precision in Candy Apple Red with Maple Neck I have fitted a Badass Bridge and Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder Pick-ups to it.
A 1963 Fender Precision that is now faded to Salmon Pink. A gorgeous bass but unfortunately never gets used. It just sits in its case :)

I have been through many basses over the years and recently been going mad looking for different things. I had 2 TRB 6 basses that I sold this year and wish I hadn't but I bought an RBX 6JM and RBX JM2 which just didn't do the job for me and have now gone. I have decided to stay with what I have now. I only ever use one bass live, so no point spending more money of things that will only be flogged on eventually. I love the versatility on my TRB 6 and the huge string spacing allows me freedom to flow.

Anyway, that's my bass life and I have enjoyed reading everyone else's bass history. Brilliant fun.

Take care.

Cheers,

Matt
