dB meter could be good would have been. I would love to pitch my RH450 up against a 450w ish head and see what the actual difference is compared to the perceived difference, hopefully put that one to bed then! So if you CAN find it that would be grand.

I think it's a good idea to keep it scientific but as with most things you need to mix fact with actual interest, if people WANT to test every cab then that's up to them, but they might not want to test every cab with every head.

I love this kind of thing and was doing it at the last SE Bass Bash in the big hall and had a blast. Ampeg 6 x 10 vs 1 x RS210 was actually remarkably close in some ways

The question that does need answering is which bass plays most like butter? I've heard this 'plays like butter' line bandied about on BC, and it's about time the butter issue was put to bed once and for all. So Simon, you crazy scientific fool, forget your dB meter, your spindlydoofer and foofoo valve, just don't forget to pack your Butterometer.

Hmmm, this hasn't come to my attention before now. Seems very transparent, would be worth a tinker if its not too much trouble, as I am trying to work out whether I want a very transparant sounding comp for my chain or a more coloured one capable of a good ol thwump

What I want to try on the other side of the coin is a MB Compressore and a JM FloorQ. Anyone happen to be bringing one of these along??

Thank you mate! Although I am looking for a pedal. Reason being is that I have one or two rack comps including my beloved TLAs but I just simply dont want to lug round an extra flight case for gigs so I'm after a good comp to sit in the board so I don't have to consider resorting to the knob on my amp :-/

Really keen to try a Mark Bass and Joe Meek floorQ in my rig as I am having trouble finding them to demo in stores!
