Comfort straps

Lads, do we have a preference when it comes to comfort straps?

I spied some Gibson ones in town, but they were priced around £80 - I know, I know, you can't put a price on a good back; but 80 notes! I could have an ok back a few pints for that

Do we have any recommendations? Was trying to find a wide leather strap, but I know some prefer more modern fabrics and padding sewn in, etc. In any case I would need a long one (oooh er) as I'm quite the tall chappy.

I've been using one of these for a while - proper leather, wide, super comfortable, padded, strong, long, great value for money, looks great. And you'll be helping the Greek economy! What's not to like?

I've got this 'used look' one, which goes very well with my new P-Bass:

I use a Mono strap. It's very comfortable and I prefer it to the Comfort Strap I also have but never use. To be honest, I also have a couple of wide and long Levys straps, the car seatbelt type ones, and because they're wide, they're very comfortable indeed.

My favourite ones are Comfort Strapp. I find that they take quite a bit of weight off your shoulder
and can comfortably play all night with one. I do like the look of the Gruv Gear 'Damian Erskine'
double strap though.

I've tried all sorts of padded, Leather, Neoprene, etc, etc ones over the years, and I've ended up settling with a simple 3" wide Levys strap

It's just as comfortable as anything else, very easy to adjust (unlike most leather ones I've had), and is very cheap. The Neotech one I've got is very comfy, but it's too long for me! I keep meaning to sell it...........

Another vote here for the 3" wide Levy's strap which I got for my bass as the Warwick uses strap locks so it needed a dedicated strap. It's easy to adjust and easy to fold up put in the front of the gig bag.

I might try another brand/type in the future but I don't see any need to at the moment. I quite like the look of the Minotaur ones and the prices look pretty good. I'm frankly amazed that their advertising slogan isn't something like "Great straps, no bull".

Then again it's been a long day...

I have used comfort straps for over ten years now they are good but one of mine is coming undone(stichiing) there was also that thread scare, about the plastic buckles breaking and dropping the bass to the floor.
from a thread i put up ref Pino's bass strap, check these out these are good.

I was lucky enough to be gifted a Moody's strap from the US.

The leather must be from the thickest part of a cows ass, and I'm sure this thing will be around long after I'm worm food.
I've got a single-star Mike Dirnt model.
Very comfy (if not a little pricey).
The dogs danglies.

[sub]Been using Comfort Strapps for nigh on 20 years.-- I have history with my back-- and never felt the need to change them.[/sub]

[sub]I have the 20 yr old one and a newer one and you can't tell the difference in wear and tear, IMO.[/sub]

I'm using one of the Overwater padded straps. Over 4" wide and with a short piece of elastic on one of the buckles that stops any "jarring". Can't see them on the site any more. IIRC about £40

I use a Levy's strap, I think it's polyester, it feels almost stretchy, it's very comfortable and long. It's the MPA3 #012, which they don't seem to make anymore. It only cost £19, to be honest, my wife picked it out and said I should buy it, while wondering around a Guitar shop one day, I wasn't looking for a strap but I'm very glad I did buy it.

I used to have a leather strap, my first ever Bass came with one, but I hated it at the time, probably because it was red, but I wish I could remember what happened to it now. Would like to get a nice leather one, something like the Levy's M4GF. Though those Minotaur ones look nice.

I've got one of these & they're really good, it's a shame that they don't sell 'em anymore. I've also got one of the original comfort straps when they were made by Tobias years ago (still going strong).
