1.
I've had good results from HK Actor, a used six box system might come in your price range and you'd be able to scale it down to four or two boxes as required for smaller rooms.
+1 I do pa hire, and have not had problems at all with the Hk Actor, hifi clear and punchy and looks great
 2. yea, got some of mine up too, never had a issue with them hanging they spend a long time in the shop like that. i think they have coffee and biscuits and a good natter when im out. 3.
+1 when you search to see whether a name you want is available the golden rule is not to type in the box which says CHECK HERE TO SEE IF YOUR DOMAIN NAME IS AVAILABLE if you do this then they will check it and if it is available you will only have a very limited time until it is magically sniped this is nothing new this practice has been going on for years - i discovered this mistake back in late 90s when searching for availability and the name had been bought within 24 hours - in the early days of the interwebs the sniping worked in everybodys favour so that joebloggs could register tescosupermarket.com and then attempt to sell it for a very fast and large wedge. More recently they have introduced rules on name registration that you can only register a name for a business if you can demonstrate connection or authorisation from that business. if you need to search whether a domain name is available best thing is to just type it into the address bar of your browser and see what results . whois search could also work but personally i wouldnt even trust that 100% but then i am a rather old and hardened cynic these days
Thanks for all your comments, im Just catching up on them all from yesterday, very helpfull. steve... i had a feeling something like this was going on, as i am sure the site was not up before. but i could have missed it. as bartelby says it was created in 2004, dont know why i missed that, or rather it did not come up. To confuse me further i was talking to someone else today that said that typing the web address in the search bar what comes up also depends on what search engine you are with ? oh well, i will do some home work, i will have a look at all the suggestions, thank you all very much,
 4.
it looks like a holding page to me? http://www.funkbass.com/
Hi Andy Sorry im new to this, a holding page ?? is thats whats created when you are going through the paying stage ??? thanks
 5. Could anyone give sound advice on registering a domain name please ? I have this morning been trying to reg a name for a new site www.funkbass.com when i have been onto various registering sites 123 etc, they say its available, and to go to the checkout and pay. then just before i press the buttons to pay i thought al check myself, so i type www.funkbass.com. into the search bar at the top and low and behold a site has been created !!!, now when i go to some of the sites that perviously said it was free are now saying its in use !! but 123 are still saying its free and pay.. almost as if 123 have put a site up to stop someone else getting it till i have paid, ( which they have not,...... have they ??) can anyone give me clear steps to do this, or the 1 or 2 sites that dont mess around ? Thanks breath in.... breath out..... and..... unstress........
 6. Our trombone player always uses a plastic one now, as he was sick of getting fingerprints around his bell-end. im sorry, im sorry, just could not resist..... its like some kind of OCD with me..
 7. Always have a few viagra in your leads case ready at gigs. Then if your singer is acting an ass or you have one that is just up his own arse, then simply mix in his food at half time, then in the 2nd half wait for the fun to begin

 11.
Are you talking about the new version of the Korg MS20, or the controller that you could get with the original issue of the Legacy collection plug-ins? Having owned an original MS20 and used it as my main synth for many years, I think that they are good (if you like the sound), but on the whole over-rated. The patch-bay looks like it's going to give you some fantastic routing options, but when you get into it you'll find that there's almost no audio path access and most of the modulation connections are managed with a simple set of switches on synths from other manufacturers. So what you are left with is a synth that looks cool, but offers little sonically that can't be done by any other dual oscillator mono-synth, and is actually much harder to set up for more complex sounds. Of course if you're using the plug in version then you can get around this by saving your patches, but as a stand-alone synth it's not so good. My advice as always would be to look at the Nord Lead. Mk1 versions go for stupidly cheap prices. It does pretty much everything that the Korg MS20 does, It has patch memories so you can use it easily with out a computer, but it also has a fantastic MIDI spec that asigns every knob and switch on the front panel to a MIDI CC for ultimate sequencer control. If I could only have one synth, this would be it.
Yep thats about it i had a ms20 did not like it, and it was noisy on straight pad sounds you could hear the oscillator faintly in the background so you could not do a say soft string sound, and it was..... fizzy is the only way to describe it, it may have had it. i then got a MS2000 had that a short while, but while i had that i also had a novation KS rack, iv sold the Ms2000 as the novation is alot better despite all the retro hype about the ms2000, the novation is fatter, warmer, and punches through the mix better, the arpeg on it is great, i love it, still got it would never part with it. I did look at the nord as i like the nord stuff, i got an electro 2 seventy three when it came out, still have that too, another piece of well used great sounding gear i would buy again if broke. You have inspired me to go look for nord synth now .... bugger . here is my novation...
 12.
I have to say, the likelihood of my being taken ill is higher that the likelihood of my bass exploding. It's life.
O dear bilbo ... thats it now, youve said it ,,,,,,,,, watch this space
 13.
I definitely love my looper - great for writing and getting ideas flowing - good to try out specific soloing ideas over a specific chord - great too for layering effects with chords and bass lines - they're only as limited as your imagination - and yes I love playing with and listening to a live band but sometimes it's good to explore new ground and new sounds - loops + live playing and realtime looping/improv/interaction can be great - it can also be dull as sh** - it all depends on the gig and the player I guess... a great tool for working up ideas though
Everything Urb said. I have an RC2 used it once, hate it, its too fidgity,... but love the rc20xl its been a workhorse of a thing for me. get your ideas down fast then add parts you think wil fit, if not delete the part and try something else. also at a practice you can digi record your now song format on with just a mic in the room. you can also sample on it wont be the best quality but again the idea is there, you can put whole songs into it and record over the top to check your bass line. great for learning to solo your blues licks over diff chord progressions. will record 11 quick ideas. i have used it before now to record a brass arrangement we came up with for one song so then i could email it to them so the lazy buggers dont forget !. yep...im sure i will think of another few uses for it, Great bit of very handy gear.
 14. I felt bad when my 1830 theodore h fell over in the studo and snapped the head where the a and d tuners go through, all the guys just stood there slackjawed as if to say "i did not move" like i was going to kill someone im not joking my fu)*&n heart jumped out.

 16. A bass is worth it when you pick it up and try it, it says yes to you right away. it dont matter about the price, if its new or old, or even the build quality ( to a point). Out of my collection of wals i have kept one, been playing it for 25+years, i have a modded mex jazz and a G&L that i kept rather than some of the wals i let go, and about 2ish years ago found a jap jazz fotoflame thats the muts nuts. its not the money, i just know that i will wait and search another 30 years of playing before anything as good will pop up, You know the ones that are right for you, they will sing in your hands, and do you know what ? without you even knowing it you will prob get rid of it in your quest for something better, only then after 10 years of looking will you realise it was the one you let go.... You know the ones that are right for you, they will sing in your hands, thats when its worth it,

 24. I sent this to him... "You do realise dont you that you was using someone elses pictures and so people think its a con hence bidding it up of which you wont be paid but will get a huge ebay fees bill ?? my good advice would be to end the listing, reason due to error in the listing. then relist it with the real pics with an explination, this would save you alot of hass. i would do this as soon as today." His only reply was " thanks" indeed well done everyone. a future plan
 25.
Looks like me that will be winning it, what should I do? I'm thinking cash on collection only and if he refuses to allow it then Ebay will have to side with me as that's what it is listed as?
Pete dont worry about it, it was as has been said a duff listing with the wrong photos.. end of whats the worst he can do give you 1 bad feedback ? ebay have been told enough to pull it. I have also advised him to end the auction due to error in the listing, and relist it explaining the probs. if he is gen he would do this.
