1. Interested! will send PM
2. Thanks chaps. I'm fine with a soldering iron so I'll check out the kits. I've got an older TS808, don't know how this compares to other versions?
3. Didn't think of that, could be one option. I've got an ls2 but that would mean switching in two pedals....?
4. Can anyone recommend a model of Tubescreamer that retains the lower end? I like the tone but all the ones I've tried take the bottom end out and I have to eq the amp to suit. Is this a trait of all Tubescreamers and something I'd just have to live with? thanks Steve
5. I've got the BG250-115 Mk1 (it has one toneprint slot and a dedicated tubedrive as opposed to two toneprint slots) - apparently the update doesn't apply to this one.
6. I have the same as you and I don't think I'd swap given that the specs are fairly similar but the traveler is a bigger cab. On its side it does match width-wise but not depth.
7. I'd not adjust anything to begin with. Leave your bass in a room with a neutral temperature and allow it to settle for 24 hours. Then go back and check the neck relief, then when that's right, adjust your saddle height. Then, look at the places you are keeping your guitar and see if they are susceptible to changes in temperature (i.e. a room with the radiator off, in a garage, kept in the car etc)
8. These any good? http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/hardware-parts-c1/screws-nuts-washers-c58/pickup-screws-springs-c102/wd-music-bass-pickup-screw-chrome-bag-of-10-p2473
9. Use input and output leads with right angled jacks
10. USA made (now discontinued) Mosfet version overdrive pedal. Comes with adaptor to allow it to run at 18v. Good condition with orginal box and manual and rubber feet, Postage £5. No trades.
11. Boomy/not boomy may not be string height related but pickup height related. I would first set your string height to what is comfortable for you to play, then set the pickup height to achieve the desired sound.
12. Another excellent experience buying a bass. I specified a particular delivery date (as I was away for a while) and it arrived spot on time, well packaged. Can't fault it
13. I think it's the same humbucker at the bridge as at the neck. 71mm x 35mm. I don't think they are sold in pairs i.e neck and bridge and I've not taken mine out to test the resistance to see if they're the same. It's a different sound to a 51 single coil, less bright but a good solid thud to it. Quite vintage. I wouldn't says it's any meatier than the SD single coil from memory (I used to have one in a 51p reissue but sold it recently)
14. Have you swapped the speakon cable for a different one?
15.
I believe someone was on the look out for one of these on here recently.
Twas I, following your purchase and associated thread! One didn't come up at the time so I bought one new. Gigged the crap out of it since - my American ones haven't had a look in. This is an excellent price for a excellent bass. steve
16. A lot of semi acoustics are short scale. The. Epiphone Jack Casady is 34" the same as yours so I reckon that's a good place to start. I found the Jack Casady case dimensions on the net. If yours matches , then the case should be good. lower bout - 16.5" upper bout - 12.5" middle (hips) width - 10" body length (bottom to hips) - 13" body length (hips to top) - 8" overall length - 50.5"
17. What bass is it? Fender do one that fits the Coronado and starcaster.
18. Plenty of cabs fit in the boot of the 3 series coupe, and the rear seats fold forward don't they? Try a 2x12 or two 12" cabs.
19. They'll also send you new buttons for free if you ask, as the old ones had a tendency to crack (the program, shift, mute buttons etc)
20.
Check out this website, it should help.
http://www.ovnilab.com/ your link used https which might not work in some browsers
21. Is it black? I've used shoe polish in the past. Just remember to 'polish' it obviously.
22. Given that the situation you are in has partly resulted from misunderstandings or different interpretations of conversations, I'd think it would be useful to get a clear statement from your new drummer of exactly what he can and can't commit to and work from there.
23. Mine weigh exactly the same - both come in at 13.1kg
24. It's a genuine model. it's a Precision Plus. 22 frets so body shape was altered slightly.
25. Can you post an update afterwards on what is still open, what has closed, what has moved (if you can find it) and what shops you found most useful/interesting? It seems that things change regularly so having an up to date source of info may prove useful for other members! Have fun.
