The first version BG250-115 had a dedicated Tube drive feature and one Tone print slot. The newer version did away with the dedicated drive channel opting instead for a second Tone Print slot. I guess the idea was that you could always load an overdrive Tone Print in to the second slot. FWIW I find the dedicated Tube Drive function much more useable. Dunno why they got rid of it.

If you want to try that bass with a few amps, or even your own, pop down to mine. I have one and I'm 15 minutes away from you.

In short, not really although there are plans afoot for something in Peterborough soon. You've got the Musicroom in Lincoln or Music Street in Huntingdon and PMT in Cambridge. Peterborough Music is closing down and they've not got a lot left in. Bass Direct is your best bet

I have three of various sizes - I have found the cases themselves are ok, not brilliant, but the quality of the zips is dubious. I've had three of the metal zipper bits just disintegrate on me!

I've got both and for £50 I'd go for the tube. The 'tube' itself is a tiny GT valve soldered to the circuit board but does provide a pleasant extra warmth. I still use a OD pedal anyway. The tube also has two channels (separate gain, shared EQ) and a mute switch.

Another TC Corona here - Mainly because I can program it to get exactly what I need.

In fact here you go, it even had the same title as your thread. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/223363-royal-blood/page__fromsearch__1

There's a thread on here somewhere that goes through this and even posts a picture of his pedalboard. I'll have a check using the search facility but you could maybe try that too?

Precisions - How do you justify having two (or more!)?
Muppet replied to jbasst's topic in Bass Guitars
Pretty daft having two of the same bass, if you ask me you should have a minimum of three of your favourite axe....!!!!!! 😬
Absolutely right. I have three, all with different pick ups and neck combinations. Original Wizard Thumpers win hands down.... -
Considering the Nate Mendel P bass seems to sell quite well perhaps Fender might twig there's a market for P basses with a Jazz like neck
It was keenly priced too so in value for money terms was excellent. Price has gone up a fair bit now though. It's a good example of an understated signature model that appeals to fans and non-fans alike.
There can be an overlap. If you have a signature, chances are you are an endorser!
Yes I see but it could be a fine line. Example - Nate Mendel (as we are talking about him earlier) has an Ashdown pedal in his name. Does he 'use' it? I doubt it. He does use the amps though. Does it matter though, if it increases the sales for Ashdown........
Here's a better version of the chart - Nate Mendel P outselling the US Standard P!! http://www.thomann.d...g_p_basses.html
That may be more to do with that bass being pretty good value for money (pickups, tuners, body, neck profile, bridge etc) when compared with a standard P at list price than having Nate's signature on the headstock.

I'm running a RS212 and a 112. If I had the choice again I would probably go for three of the 112s just for the portability aspect.

Rio Isolated Bass Track - is it John Taylor?
Muppet replied to spectoremg's topic in General Discussion
Seen him play it live twice this year and it's with fingers all the way apart from a tiny slap/pop run in the middle of the chorus. -
Ah you already answered the headphones question!

I have one of these amps, though I mainly use it for rehearsals and quieter practice. The 'voicing' changes the more you turn it up and it's designed this way apparently. So, the good sound that you get at lower volumes is different at higher ones. I always adjust the tone in line with the master setting. A couple of questions though, what's it sound like through the headphone socket and could there be anything environmental i.e. In the venue, where you're positioning it for example that could affect it? Hi, I've had one of these pickups before but not had the problems you describe. Is the pickup fitted the correct way round (implausible I would think)? Before assuming it is the pickup I would check the strings at all body touch points - bridge, nut, tuner to make sure everything is OK, then adjust strings to factory spec height and pickup height also. Have you tried a different amp too just to rule out another potential cause?
-
You'll be lucky to find any new as they're not made anymore I believe. Fender sometimes fitted them to signature models but now make their own instead. Best place is eBay or here to be honest.
-
Sounds like the competition has decided that 'your tone' is not the same as 'his tone' and is therefore inferior. If you are happy then I'd forget it.

I started this thread in January of this year. It's still not available to try in retailers and I have tried! In fact the number of times I've been told 'it's coming in the next month' is amazing, but I eventually gave up. It's going to be pretty much a year from announcing to selling. I work for a major car manufacturer and our time to market from announcing is no more than three months..... Cars are really more complicated than this..... That aside, and as I have said a number of times before, I like the range of features and it looks like a great piece of kit but the cost is astronomical, especially if you compare it to excellent products like Yamaha's THR range. I really hope this succeeds as I think Ashdown are a great company but I think this has lost traction. Steve

Thanks chaps. I'm fine with a soldering iron so I'll check out the kits. I've got an older TS808, don't know how this compares to other versions?
-
Didn't think of that, could be one option. I've got an ls2 but that would mean switching in two pedals....?
