1. There was no mention if the sale cost of a lead either. Don't remember them requiring batteries though. Watch this space!
2.
Did anyone buy into Philips DCC format? was going to be the next big thing at one time. I still have the player.... best thing about it was that it had an optical output so you could put a standard tape in and transfer it easily. I backed up loads of my old tapes to CD
Bought a portable one as soon as they came out. Used it to master on to from our Tascam 4 track instead of chrome or metal cassette! Worked well enough and also used a mini disc. It gas since packed up though.
3.
I have a TC BH550 with a Spectracomp and I leave it at 12 o'clock all the time. It adds a little punch without really squashing everything. Saying that, it's pretty much the only compressor I have really liked.
I do the same with my tc classic 450 for much the same reason. Have dabbled with pedals live too but not too bothered about them.
4. Almost forgot about this thread too. Will the log keep rolling?
5. Really pleased with my padded cover for my BF Retro 210. Does the job projecting it in the car and in storage at home. Great service from them too.
6. Enjoy your cab and feedback after your gig. I have one and it is very clear and loud. Amazing for the size.
7.
Unprofessional, these bands usually go nowhere. Blue Indeed very unprofessional. Never saw anything of them.
8. Found out I was sacked when I saw the advert for a bass player in the classifieds. I phoned the singer and got her answer phone. left a message and got one back a few days later with an apology but no real explanation. I suspect it was the keyboard player / band leader who was a total arse.
9.
Ouch!
Indeed. It hurt at the time. This might take some beating but we'll see.
10. Most drummers I have worked with have been fine. Only 1 stands out as a tool but that was very short lived.
11. Bought a brand new EBMM Stingray 5 string fretless in the early 90's for a lot (can't remember the actual amount). I had to sell it to help fund a move abroad a few years later at short notice. Ended up selling it to a shop in London for about a quarter of what I paid for it.
12. The isolated track has recently be discussed http://basschat.co.uk/topic/285531-the-ox-isolated-bass-track-video-wont-get-fooled-again/page__p__3066429__hl__fooled__fromsearch__1#entry3066429
13. Mirror scratch plate like Phil lynnot of course.
14. Still available but now advertised elsewhere.
15. PRICE DROP BUMP Despite one of these selling recently on Basschat for £50 + postage it appears that a new one from the US will only set you back around £55 to £60 inc postage. As a result I have dropped the price.
16. Still available. Are people waiting for me to drop D price!
17. I have had this GB7 Gotoh style drop tuner for some years now on my Charvel bass. It was purchased from the Bass Centre. I am selling the Charvel as standard so this is being sold separately. £[s]50[/s] 40 including postage to mainland UK.
18. We always mic the bass drum, even in small pubs. It is easily lost if not. You don't say what PA you have but a sub just for the bass drum is a bit overkill.
19. Silent vocals? Don't think so. Although quieter than acoustic drums.
20. Do you know if he does this for ever band that plays and it's how he covers their cost. Never heard of this before.
21. My Stingray of course I have 3 other basses but they are used for practice and band rehearsals mainly.
